Tuesday Travel Highlight – Australia
My husband was born in Australia. When we started our travel journey, it was logical that Australia was our destination.
Our first visit was the Sydney Opera House. In addition to the tour, we watched an opera that was available during our visit.
Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge was quite an experience. Special suit with belts and hooks were required to attach to the steel railing leading to the top of the bridge. It is the tallest steel arch bridge in the world, measuring 134 m (440 ft) from top to water level. Climbing to the top of the bridge was the climb of our life!
Bondi Beach, Sydney
We visited his aunt and uncle who lived by Blue Mountain, which is less than two-hour drive from Sydney. We drove to Three Sisters, and followed a Giant Stairway that provides a spectacular entry to the Jamison Valley, descending approximately 300 m (1000 ft) via more than 800 steps and runways.
Other sites of visit were the Koala Zoo and the Crocodile Farm.
Before we went further north, we stopped by Port Douglas.
My husband always wanted to dive in the Great Barrier Reef. It was his highlight of the trip, and a pleasant experience for me to ride along the boat to have a spectacular view of the ocean and the mountains.
