Weekly Photo Challenge – Path of Journey
A long path I have traveled,
Twisted and turned.
High up on the mountain,
Deep down in the valley.
Crooked, uneven steps,
Darkness, no scene in sight.
Feet heavy, unable to drag,
Body weary, no strength to carry.
—
Heart filled with comfort,
Spirit with faith,
Mind with trust.
Knowing
He will guide me,
Empower me,
Light up my path
Through the journey.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105
“By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.” Nehemiah 9:19

Oh, I went to Seattle Pacific U. in 79 to study counseling. We came from Orange County, CA to Portland to visit our daughter and her husband. This afternoon we go to Vancouver, WA to see a movie. We’re not too far from you. When I was in Seattle, I drove between Seattle and Portland ver often.

… I meant, I’m jealous of seeing Star Wars movie already – and that you have time with family was wonderful. Sorry if I was confusing!

Sorry for answering the wrong question. We don’t go to the theater too often, so it was a special thing to do. Movie like Star Wars is worth seeing in a theater!

No, it was me who just mis-worded my comment, Miriam! Not at all. It IS a movie worth seeing in the theater! Thanks!

Oh my, I left right after I made that comment. WordPress shows that you made your comment 12 hours ago, so you must be in Pacific Time; I’m in Central Time, two hours ahead of you. 🙂
Thank you! 🙂 Oh, that must be nice! Have fun celebrating Christmas with your daughter! ♥

Say hi to my brother,Miriam. He lives on the east side of Portland. Stay warm. I hear they have been having snow, and that’s unusual for Portland. 🙂

Yes, it is. A few day ago, they could ski in the local park, made snow angel!! The snow stopped but it’s quite cold!

It was even cold yesterday in Central Cal, but nothing like Portland. I lived there for many years, and remember about one or two big snows and one huge ice storm.

Central CA is colder than southern CA. Before I went to Seattle, I was in Portland, I remember one big snow as deep as to my knee and a freezing rain.

Yes, we are a little colder than SOCAL, and the central coast. But it is much better than winter living in Portland or Indiana, where I lived before Portland. I love Portland in the summer, but I’ll stay here during the winter! 🙂

After being here for a few day, kind of getting used to the cold. Of course I’m all bundled up. Many winters, I always had to borrow my daughter’s jacket because I just didn’t remember how cold. This time I brought one heavy vest and one heavy hooded 3/4 length jacket, so I’m well prepared, and don’t feel too bad about the cold!!

Lovely poem and I love the accompanying photos. You can really picture strolling through the landscape and coming across those scenes. It’s nice to see such vibrant landscapes when the area around me is feeling cold and extremely wintery now. Thank you for sharing!
