Tuesday Photo Challenge – Animal
During our visit to our daughter and her husband in Portland, Oregon for Christmas 2016. We were in their neighborhood. My daughter pointed out this squirrel to me. I quickly took out my camera to get a few shots. He is enjoying a pine cone.
I love the shot and blogpost!

I was standing still to zoom my camera into a closeup. I didn’t move because he was staring at me and on alert. I;m glad the pine cone kept him occupied!

I fed one long, long time ago with food in my hand. But I was told not to do it!

So cute! We live right next to the South Park Blocks and I love walking through, seeing all of the critters- mostly birds and squirrels.

Wow! How fun! That squirrel was in Portland, OR. There is a squirrel in my neighborhood, Orange County, CA. He roams freely around here!

My childhood home is in Glendale, CA and my mom used to leave out peanuts for the squirrels. My ex-husband was very artistic and one Christmas, he made her a plate for the peanuts, “Penny’s Peanuts” and painted a picture of a squirrel on it. She loved it ( so did the squirrels!)

That’s a nice squirrel story! I know where Glendale is. My husband used to work in Glendale hospital!

Heheh. Once we visited a friend in Cologne. There were two squirrels on the trunk of the tree playing what seems to be hide and seek! We laughed so loud that they looked at us with seeming bemusement. Now who’s observing who?

Cool photos. We have black and gray squirrels in the Princeton area. However, since winter started, I have not seen a single one.

I was surprised to see one in Portland, OR around Christmas. I thought they should have been hiding. It was cold there. A week ago, the snow got so heavy overnight that workers, students stayed home for a day!

I have lots of squirrels in my yard living in the country. I’ve even attempted to snap a few images of them doing what your squirrel is doing, enjoying a pine cone. But alas, by the time I set up my phone to take the shot my schnauzer has barked the tiny creature away. Drat!!!

I know, they are quick and alert. His eyes stared at me in case I did something. Frank also said his dogs go crazy at the squirrels.

Aw, such good photos! I love his fluffy tale. When I was about twenty years old my Dad and I took trip to Quebec City. We had lunch before going to see an art exhibit at the Musee Des Beaux Arts in Quebec and squirells like this would come up to us within arms distance to get fed. Lucky we had some bread and cheese to share. Then they moved even closer lol.

When I lived in Seattle upstairs in a two-story building, squirrels would climb up the stairs. I fed one once. I forgot what I used to feed him. Later on, people asked me not to feed squirrels. I still don’t know why!!

Lol. I guess they keep coming back, like any animal, once they think there will be food there. Same thing as do not feed the bears 🙂
