Natural Disaster
Last Sunday afternoon, my phone blasted off an international warning sound signal. I was expecting to hear, “This is a test. This is a test….” Instead, a text flashed on my phone to give the flooding warning message. It further warned people not to get close to the flooding areas.
Wow! That was the signal I heard from radios for years. On Sunday, it was used for real. We didn’t go out too much during the rain storm. My husband tried to run around the lake, but it was locked up.
The rain stopped the last couple days. I drove around to see for myself the disaster this thundering, lightening, down poured rain had brought. I took a few photos of the big trees got uprooted, and some areas were still muddy from the flooding. Neighbors had huge plastic sheet covered their slope to avoid mud slide. Natural Disaster could bring personal devastation.
We had a long drought for months and months. The rain was welcome, even though the cities had work to do to repair the damages.

We live right next to a huge drainage that collects water and direct to the ocean, so the water doesn’t get to our area. The ocean is 30 minutes drive south of us.
