100 Word Wednesday: Week 9 – Winter End
The winter has gone by in a flash.
Your presence made my winter warmer and funnier.
The snowfall fights was hilarious,
you hit my mouth when I was laughing with you.
You taught me how to play new games, and
I wanted to play again and again.
The stories you told me about the people down the mountain fascinated me,
I wanted to hear more.
You liked the hot cocoa I made and we drank it by the fireplace.
You rubbed my hands and fingers to make them warm.
How I like winter!
Why do you have to go?

Thanks for enjoying that cocoa with me 🙂

I so enjoyed reading your lovely, playful perspective on the image prompt. What a light and happy submission — makes me {almost!} want to frolic in the snow too! I am not a huge fan of winter, or snow. I don’t mind one annual snowfall, and thankfully here in the Pacific Northwest {USA}, we typically only get one snowfall…this year we had many snow days. I’m thankful that’s over for this winter — and I hope I’m not jinxing it and sending more snow our way!! Thank you for joining us this week 🙂

I’m in southern CA. My daughter and her husband live in Portland, OR. We’ll visit them next week and go to the Tulip festival. I used to live in Portland 40 (in 1 week) years ago when I went to school there. It was an unusual year to have may inches of snow to welcome me. When it snowed a few month ago in Portland, my daughter text me the pictures right away. They skied in the park!! played snow angels! I was inspired.
I love to write, and I am used to work counts when I took a writing class. So I actually love to do your image prompt!! Thank you for hosting it. Can’t wait for tomorrow!!

What a small world!! We’ll be making our annual trip to the Tulip Festival in Skagit County Washington next month as well 🙂 Of course, I take my boys with me and we make a day of it — I blogged about it last year https://bikurgurl.com/2016/04/02/tulips-tidepooling-and-cabelas/ — Safe travels and looking forward to seeing how the Tulip Festival Inspires you!! 🙂

Oh yes, I’ll bring eta batteries for my camera! Yes, it’s a small world. Nice to get connected with you!!

Agreed — and yes! Without batteries it just won’t do 😉

Do all the photos on this post taken on that trip?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes! All of these photos were taken on the day we went 🙂 I realize I didn’t name the garden we went to — but it is http://www.tulips.com/. I’ll edit the post to reflect the location. When I blogged about it last year, I didn’t want to be too specific on where we were or where we were going, but I think I can let down my ‘stranger danger’ guard just a bit 😉 Thank you so much for asking and I look forward to catching up with you soon 🙂

I understand the feeling. I didn’t want to show my face of my family’s faces for a long time. When I made the first post of my hubby eating the voodoo donut, he feels funny but like it, I did more and more. I post quite a few of photos of myself in groups.

I fancy myself a photographer, but just take a lot of pictures and sometimes get lucky 😉 We’ve been going to Roozengaard for the past several years — it’s really lovely and they have wonderful places to take photos {http://www.tulips.com/} — I have been reluctant to post images of my boys faces on my blog, but nice benches and vistas — if you’ve never been, you’ll love it. If you’re anything like me, you’ll be cursing yourself for not making the pre-order for bulbs in April last year for beautiful blooms this year — but now that my garden is more settled….maybe! I can’t wait to see where you go!

Oh thank you again for this idea of buying the bulbs. I can plant them for next year. I planted new flowers – irises this year. So I add some new flowers every year!

How wonderful! We’ve been working on our house this past year and I was in the process of trying to convince my husband to get rid of the front lawn in favor of all raised beds and vegetables!! He declined, but I did manage to convert over half of the grass to planting beds, so I’m busy at Green Elephant swaps, friends houses, and nurseries filling in, pulling out, and enjoying the garden! Happy Planting!!

My son-in-law built a couple or three raised flower/vegetable beds also. He and my daughter are plant lovers. There is no discord there!

We once consider move close to my husband’s family, but have to go miles just for groceries or to the gym. We’re close to everything we need in our daily life. So we’re happy!

So happy to hear it! That’s how I grew up — and I think my boys would love it, but I like having less to take care of and more time with them and to pursue my interests 😉 It’s the little things, right?💕
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, if you spend less time on the road, you could have more time to do things you like or be with you family more. I spent too much time on the road to and from work and didn’t spend enough time with my daughter in her growing years. Good thing we’re still close!

Through WordPress, in the ‘options’ you have the option to also send your post to other platforms — I have mine automatically set to send to my Bikurgurl Blog Facebook Page as well as to my Twitter account 😉 That’s as much social media as I can keep up with {maybe more than I can keep up with?} 😉 I have this vision that I’ll make getting my words into my Instagram feed, but it’s only an occasional occurence — and find handwriting them are better 😉 Thank you so much again for sharing your lovely words!

Our winter has been weird with highs in the 60’s one week and frigid temps the next. We may actually get a little snow in a few days.

Yes, our winter was strange also. The rain storm in CA was unusual. In fact, I put 4 or 5 different jackets, vests on the back of my chair and wore different one or even two according to the temperature of the day. I had never needed to do that before!!
