One of my garden residents, the squirrel, is back. One day he was checking out the tree where he ate the bird eggs last year. The Gray Jay was perching on the branch staring at him. Eventually he went away. The Gray Jays have built their nest already last week getting ready to lay eggs. They built their nest higher on the tree this year. The squirrel keeps coming back to find his chances. Today, he spotted something else.

He spotted the bird seeds.

He concentrated on getting into the seeds. He is sneaking in slowly, so I was in a perfect time to take his photos. Thank you for liking them!

Wow, you’ve managed to get some really good shots. The last time I tried to take photos of the squirrels in our local park they all came out blurred, I just couldn’t capture one well at all! x

They run fast. It happened this one tried to be still and sneaky to get into the bird seeds!

Yes, I fed one from my hand when I was in Seattle. Then I saw another one chew a cone next to me when I went for a walk last Christmas in Portland. They are everywhere!

These are great shots. I miss my old house where we had what we deemed the “Squirrel Highway” outside our sliding glass door. There were two trees that were close to each other and the squirrels would chase each other up one tree, across to the other, and down. I often just sat and watched them running back and forth. My dogs loved to watch them too.

Oh yes, they are fun to watch. Good thing that your dog just watch, not going after them!!

He’s adorable but I hope he stays away from the eggs. Maybe you should make him omelettes!

I’m still trying to see how I can distract him. I thought of making some barrier to prevent him climbing up the tree!

Wow, you got impressively close to that squirrel! At one point, I had a squirrel appear like he was going to jump from the tree on to me. I was a bit worried. Some of them make noises if they are scared. 🙂

I fed a squirrel out of my hand once when I lived in Seattle. People said I shouldn’t have done that. This squirrel is a frequent visitor. He doesn’t mind me… 🙂

That is true, I have seen squirrels that are used to humans and friendly. 🙂

This one doesn’t mind me on one hand, but is very alert, will run away fast if I get too close
