100 Word Wednesday: Week 10 – Rehearsal

Dress rehearsal today! Hooray!
Well, we don’t have to dress up. I don’t know why it’s called dress rehearsal.
Oh, the crew is setting up the stage with the scenery. The yellow brick road looks cool. Now we can round around it three times before we turn to the garden area to find the Wizard’s Castle.
This is better than the other rehearsals when we ran around the floor with no markings. We ended up bumping each other. The director was always so serious to get us back on track.
Dress rehearsal with real scenery! Wait! Where is Dorothy?

I adore your story! This is actually a backdrop for The Wizard of Oz!! So lovely to think of you taking your daughter to rehearsals and seeing her performances much like I’ve been doing with my boys. I wish you safety and much fun on your impending trip to the Pacific Northwest 🙂

Oh, wow! I did look closely and tried to guess what it would be. And the yellow road kind of gave me the idea. I hope your boys enjoy the production!

Maybe that’s because the rehearsal is simulating the real performance, you know – where to stand and move etc. Bumping into each other at dress rehearsal is better than at the actual performance!

Suan: when I used to dance, I’d have rehearsals one after another. And as the rehearsals go on the actual stage, the choreograph changes. So a dressed rehearsal is really useful from that point of view for the directing person!

Thank you so much! In fact when my daughter was a kid, she was in that play. I was going to take a photo of her T shirt, but ….
