I love purple. For some time it was my favorite color, then green, but now the admiration for purple has set in again. The flowers on my porch are purple and my nails are purple at the moment–they rarely are, I usually pick subtle colors due to my many years in the Air Force. But I was in California last week and I thought why not paint them purple! As for the quotes they’re pretty spot on, but that might be me feeling purplish lately.
I think the personality and characteristic stay in us. It’s just the emotion may fluctuate due to circumstances. The intelligent and creativity and the positivity don’t go away. I have my lazy days from time to time. Thank you for your comment. What’s your position in Air Force? Do you station somewhere?
I’m retired now. My final assignment was Commandant (Director) of a leadership school. I know I should probably blog about how I arrived at Leadership2Mommyship. Life is very busy when you’re an active duty mama. It’s still busy no matter what. But I have less hats to wear these days, and I cannot deny I enjoy it.
I think I remember reading about you, because I was curious about the blog name. My friend’s daughter is a PA in the Army stations in Alaska. She has two kids. I heard my friend talks about her daughter. It was hard for me to be a public school district administrator when my daughter was in her pre-teen and teenage!
Hi Debbie, wow, the purple company is getting bigger! I appreciate all the good quality that you have revealed by what you like! Have a wonderful day! Miriam
Do you like purple? If you do, then you’re the leader of the crowd! I’m sure other colors have superb qualities also. That’s great that you have all the wonderful qualities. Congratulations!
I think it is a general but not exclusive description. It could apply to other colors. All the personality tests I had taken, would refer to primary traits and secondary traits. Any other means to describe personality such as zodiac, has overlapping areas.
A lovely post Miriam. I love to wear purple in winter. It feels so soothing on the soul. I love the poem by Jenny Joseph “When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat that does not go…”
Thank you Brigid. Yes, I have purple and lavender sweat shorts and sweaters for winter. They are not too bright but warm colors. I think what we see affects how we feel. I want to feel warm in winter!

Interesting post, but I cannot answer your questions – I have no idea, really.
I simply adore purple in nature – gorgeous – but have never been drawn to any of the man-made shades, so rarely think of it as a favorite color as a result. My favs actually vary, depending on use. I love wearing red, for example, but can’t live with it in my surroundings – way too distracting (although burgundy sometimes makes an appearance as an accent color).
Green, as someone else commented always appeals in any form, regardless of purpose. I wonder what that means?

I don’t think I have the whole house of purple things!!!! In fact, there’s almost none. I like purple flowers. My clothings are mostly secondary colors. Purple and lavender are secondary colors. I have quite a few household things such as sofa set, even clothing are burgundy color. When I looked at the quotes, I think they refer to liking the color in general, because I can’t say that I have a lot of purple things. Thank you for your comment. Is the Senior Salon having a showcase today?
Me too – lol – have no idea. Something about Bernadette’s Senior Salon every Wednesday – but I think the question was about whether it was happening.
Anyway, no apologies necessary — I’m amazed you found me at all. You must get a lot less spam than I. Once comments are tossed in the spam-trash I rarely have time to dig through (especially since I rarely find anything besides page upon page of link-spam).

I know those are spam for sure. Delete without thinking. Some shorter ones, I gave a second thought and look at the site address. I got 7 spam in the last dew day! Thank you for your comment! xxoo
You are a lucky lightweight. Today Akismet’s spam counter (on my sidebar) tells me it has filtered 1,107,225 spammer comments in the 6 years I’ve been blogging. If the counter is accurate and my math is right, that’s almost 4 thousand a week! Multiple pages of the hateful stuff every single day!!!
See what I mean about not being worth my time to dig through it all for 1 or 2 *real* comments?
xx,
mgh
Wow! I didn’t pay attention to the Akismet spam count. I glanced it once in awhile, and mentally acknowledge how great they filter the spam. Hmmm, I have to check. Wait, where on the side bar to show the spam cout?
I just got one spam for loan, ask me to give all of my personal info.
It’s a widget – you have to put it on your sidebar if you want it there — same with the translation widget, image widgets, text widgets – all found under Appearance “backstage” – click Widgets then slide things where you want them. Some take a bit of fussing with first, but it’s not hard to figure out.
I always “test” in my footer – not too many people get that far down. If/when I like it, then I move it up to the sidebar.
xx,
mgh
You’re very welcome. One reason to put it up higher is that is does discourage a few spammers if they see it. Thinks slowed down a bit once I did.

Oh we are so loving purple now! LOL
But seriously, we wrote about it in our handprint story about Lavender.
Purple was the color of high status. We’d sure love to be back in a sea of purple in France during summer!
That you are Miriam! Inspiring others with your positivity! 💖

Miriam I love purple as well. For me, it is quite a spiritual color hue – reminds me that Spirit is supporting me. Thanks for asking. Beautiful 😊
