Many of my sleepless hours were the consequence of the chemotherapy and surgery. One health question resulted from another. At least the cancer was deadly, and the insomnia is manageable. The elixir of lavender and eucalyptus has induced calmness and nights of slumber. What a wonder!
I was curious have you ever tried melatonin? On some really rough nights with my severe itching of eczema these past 8 yrs, I got used to sleeping with my dailyaudiobible.com. I love it & his voice so calming. You read the Bible through in a year, audibly of course. And at the end there are prayer request you can call and or hear others’ requests. I hope you are doing much better. How long have you been going through this battle?
I’ve taken melatonin for 20+ years. The last few months, I started taking the herb that has valerian, hops, and chamomile, 125 mg each ingredient. I didn’t take melatonin, and I slept through the night!! So this is my newest thing for sleep!
Oh I have never heard of this! Me and members of my family suffer from a sleep disorder and this is one thing we have never tried! Although I am allergic to all fragrance I’m not sure how I would do but they possibly can try this
I’m allergic to fragrance also. I went to an aromatic therapy, some herbal oil works well for me for relaxing. I can only use mild scent essential oil!
It’s not fictional?
We almost lost you?
That can’t happen. Not yet. You’ve still got billions of lives to inspire with your posts and pictures and yourself.
So, keep fighting, Miriam.
Glad the sleeping issue has been handled though.
Thank you for all the love!!! I’m so grateful. Yes, I fought because so many people’s love gave me strength to fight. I’m doing better and better dealing with the side effect – swelling legs – from the treatment and surgery!! Thank you so much. Love back to you and many blessings too!!
There are links – if you click chemotherapy, it takes you to my post about the treatment. I wrote 9 posts so far for the process. The first 2 would explain that due to the delay of referral, the cancer went from stage 2 to stage 4. The treatment was vigorous. At one point, my husband thought he would have lost me!! Thank you for your kind concern!!
So now I know. I read your previous posts and what a journey! I am so glad that is behind you. Best wishes for a beautiful life and please know I admire your positive spirit.
I really appreciate your wonderful comment! I’m grateful that my life is spared. I’m thankful for every day because it reminds me that every day is an extension of my life!
Even if you don’t write a post, when you have some thoughts such as your comments to me, write them down and file them. I write notes and file in my computer. Years later, I was surprised of what I wrote when I was younger. I’m still a student but learning something for fun. I take classes for retirees!!
Thank you for the beautiful advice… I will remember to do this…. But I usually write down what comes in the moment not even looking back what came. Even words are gift of the existence and I am grateful in that moment looking life as it is 😊🙏
Oh man! Thank you for reminding me that I have a humidifier! I’m currently suffering from insomnia due to my medication change–it’s been rough!😫 I will definitely get some lavender and eucalyptus oils tomorrow and try this. Thank you!
You’re welcome! I hope it works for you. As far as essential oil, some may work for your body better than other kind. There are many kind of relaxing essential oil. Get small amount to try first!
Thank you for the advice! I’ve used eucalyptus candles before (love them) and I used to put lavender in my humidifier, but it’s been so long! I’m definitely going back to it now!
I am so glad the essential oils are helping you sleep. They are wonderful. I love the Australian Bush Flower Remedies too – if you can get them where you are. They can really help with stress, fears and insomnia. They don’t interfere with more conventional treatments either.
You are most welcome. If you can’t get the Australian remedies you will be sure to be able to get some of the Bach Flower Remedies. Rescue Remedy might really help you stabilize when you have had a big treatment. Ditto – Emergency Essence in the Australian ones. Sending you love 🙂
No, it’s true. I use humidifier and put the oil in the cotton strip, and put the strip at the spout of the humidifier. the mist carries the oil in the air for me to breathe in. It helps me sleep!
I soak the oil in the cotton strip that come with the humidifier, then put the strip in the spout where the mist comes out, so the mist carries the oil in the air in the bedroom at night!
