Thank you so much! Yes, that’s how it gt us to a comfortable retirement! I’m happy that my daughter and son-in-law have the same philosophy. They’ll be doing great also. The photos are taken in Longleat, 90 miles east of London. The cottage is facing the Longleat mansion.
Thank you very much for your comment! In my counseling service, I’ve talked to ladies who are beyond 65 and still have to work full time. We’re blessed with a comfy retirement!
Worry free is peaceful. I can just rest in Christ. After all He knows it all and has complete control over everything including things I choose to worry about. 🌹
Wise thoughts and beautiful images. If I live in such a beautiful cottage someday, I shall try and be more prudent. Isn’t that a thought? Btw I indulged in some guilty shopping today and it felt darned good *cheesy grin.
You’re welcome! I’m very thankful that my prudent spending gives us a comfortable retirement. We don’t let ourselves suffer from needs, we still have fun!
No my husband always reminds me about prudence. It is a trait I am yet to fully master but I am getting there 🙂 A comfortable retirement is the end game.
When I was working, for years, I bought a cup of Latte, and a muffin for breakfast. Then I read the book titled “It’s not Too Late to Become a Millionaire.” I didn’t read the who book, but it did a calculation of Latte + muffin x 52 weeks x 5 days x 10 years with the total spending. After I read it, I made my own coffee and had instant oatmeal for breakfast! I don’t know how much I saved!!
Ha ha ha well done Miriam. I did that by starting with home cooked food. All those days of my mother droning in my ears about the unhealthy food I would stuff myself with came back to me in a rush in my 30s. I too had a propensity for sitting every day in a coffee shop after work. Rest assured I had no savings in all those years of working as a journalist. Imagine how stupid I was. Hindsight vision 20:20.
“It’s not too Late to Become a Millionaire.” You still can do it. I saved all of my paycheck stubs, I calculated to see when I made my 1 st million $$$ just for fun!
90 miles east of London. The second picture is Longleat, the first picture is a cottage facing the Longleat mansion. I thought the cottage is very artistic and romantic. Yes, He holds our future!
thank you- I needed this! and I love the pic !

You’re welcome! I would love to live in that cottage, but it’s 90 miles outside of London. It may not be available anyway!*¨*•♥•*¨*

It would have to be in the middle of nowhere, because it doesn’t blend in with the city buildings, hehe!

We have to consider a lot of things. It may be too ambitious to do it after retirement!

We all need some rewards after working so hard, that’s not the same as irresponsibility!! My husband always rewards himself as a motivation!
