Fourteen and Under
“Hey, Sis, got anything?”
“No! Not yet. The water is quiet. You can hear a pin drop.”
“Don’t worry, we got all day.”
“I know. How about you? Got anything?”
“Not yet! I’m glad Dad found this lake for us to hang out. We almost have the whole lake to ourselves. No big guys come here!”
“Yah, that’s the good thing. Big guys have all the fishing gadgets. I feel stupid with my small fishing rod next to them.”
“There is a fishing contest next month for us under fourteen years old.”
“Oh, I want to do it, will you?”

My husband said the fishing contest for the kids is coming up soon. I love going to the lake. I found more turtles today. I see the Egyptian geese again. I saw them showed up many months ago, now I see them once in awhile. I always look forward to find something new by the lake!

I need to take a class on photography 🙂 I’d like to learn more about composition and lighting…and maybe some post production work 😉

I’m thinking of the same thing. I got some links about cameras from a friend who does commercial photography. I want to do more than automatic, point and shoot!! I kind of know a little about composition from my drawing and watercolor classes. I want to learning lighting…

I told him it’s for fun, not for anything professional. Hopefully the prices are good. I’ll check the links!

Who knows? For all that non fancy fishing equipment the girls might just angle a big fish!

I have never gone fishing. I think this is something I want to do when I visit my father this summer.

Have you seen the movie “River Runs Through It” by Henry Fonder and Brad Pitt. Nice movie with fishing scenes. I hope you’ll have a good time in the summer fishing with your father!!

I have not seen that movie. I’ll add it to my list.

It has some great lines. One was that the river will never run through the same spot twice!! I won’t spoil your fun anymore!

I like that fable. I’m too impatient to fish and I don’t like baiting the hook😂Cool post!🦋

Yes, I would rather go to the market. Why wait for the fish on dinner table by fishing. Do it as a pastime is okay. But I have my own favorite pastime.

I love fishing. There is something peaceful about it. I’m not big into cleaning or cooking fish 😬.

Yes, fishing is very peaceful. The Chinese fable has a story about and old man fishing with a straight hook – for relaxing more than catching fish!! I learned to clean fish as a kid, hehe!
