There is nothing better than to start the weekend delighting with landscapes of dreams. Your photos, so magnificent, invite us to that walk. Very good phrase. A hug.
I followed you two day ago or yesterday, I think two days ago. I like and comment on you post today. and just now I reblog your post of the volcano. Good job!
Hello Miriam. Ah Spain – my home 🙂 Toledo is just up the road from me!
I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful country…I fell in love with Granada and the Alhambra when I visited last summer- such a special place! looking forward to planning another summer holiday now! Take care. Carly
Oh yes, it’s a lovely country. I love all the architecture and all the history. I can spend the whole day just in Alhambra. I tilted my head up to take photo all the time. I lost my group because they moved to another part….. My sister-in-law and her husband went to Spain twice, now I know why!!
Me and wife was talking about where to go. She was talking about Spain. And here you go. How was the weather? Because I will take a break in August – September. Don’t know what to expect during that time of period
That’s our concern was exactly. Same in ME region, it’s difficult to go out between June all the way to October. Than temp dips to certain extent like 36C.
We would like to visit Spain and have talked numerous times about planning a trip. One of my teacher friends is from Barcelona. She came to the United States to teach as part of a program to hire bilingual teachers. She thought that she would stay a few years, but fell in love and married! She has been here for about sixteen years, but goes back to visit once or twice a year. The pictures that she has shown me after her visits are beautiful…especially the beaches! The Spanish that she speaks is quite different!
I remember hiring teacher from Spain. Our superintendent was in the team to go to Spain to recruit teachers. We called them sojourners. I know one of them stayed. Yes, their Spanish is Castilian!
Yes, it s called Castilian. I have another friend who is from South America and she also speaks Castilian. The main differences that I notice are in grammar. Several from Spain stayed in Fort Worth, but I am not sure how many are currently here. An Assistant Superintendent–now retired) was one of the team members to travel to Spain. She met my friend’s parents and has been back to visit…in fact, she attended their beautiful and very formal Barcelona wedding.
Looks like I let out a parenthesis in my prior reply! I clicked before I finished. I wanted to say that it was so heartwarming for a leader from the administration building to extend the gift of friendship. My friend now has two precious children! Her husband loves Spain and would like to live there upon retirement, if not sooner. He is from the Pacific Northwest…quite different from Spain, I think!
I have wondered about that too, but he has lived in Texas for quite a while. What he really likes in Spain (and other parts of Europe) are the small shops and outdoor markets where you can buy individual items needed to make dinner! I agree and I would enjoy that!!

We went in August, very hot. Nobody works from 2 – 5 p.m. You can’t get dinner until 7 or 8 p.m. Sun is hot, so wear sunglasses and hat.

I spent the least money shopping in Spain, because the shops were not open until late!

We do shopping in buying something traditional of that country, that will remind the journey.
For me, I love to have key chains for some reason.
