Tuesday Photo Challenge – Family Visit Travel
Tuesday Photo Challenge this week is the theme Travel, “Travel does not require it to be far or exotic, but simply any trip to where you do not live.” Frank said.
We have three kinds of travel – sightseeing, relaxing, and visiting family.
Our last trip was for family visit. My husband I spent Mother’s Day weekend with Mercy and Will in Portland, Oregon. We went to The Salty’s for a seafood buffet brunch on Saturday instead of Sunday. We were told that there were 1,800 guests on Sunday. It was such a delight to have window seating; watching the soothing water while eating. The food was delicious and abundant. Each of us made at least three trips to get different kind of food!
After brunch, we went to Kelley Point Park and enjoyed our walk in this fresh green park full of sky tall trees. At one corner of the park, we found an old dock with an abandoned anchor. From the dock, we watched the after rain dramatic clusters of clouds, the lightly lit sky and the somewhat calm river with distant docks and boats.
On Sunday afternoon we went to St. John City Street Fair. Many roads were blocked off of traffic. Vendors from all kind of businesses had their displays in booths, selling their products. Kids were free running around. There were laughers everywhere. All four of us took turn to spin the hula hoop. It was such a relaxing, interesting and enjoying time for families and people in the community.
On our way home, I spotted a nice landscape from the neighborhood. I couldn’t resist taking a photo!

Thank you, Tina! How have you been doing!

You are welcome. I haven’t been doing so good. I will have one surgery on Monday and I go to the dr tomorrow to see if I will have another one and when, or if they can do it all at the same time. I am really stressed out right now. How are you doing?

What surgery do you have?
I’m doing fine, nerve pain on both feet – balls and heels. Will see a neurologist, had seen a podiatrist. Can’t walk more than 30 minutes! I usually sit on the couch with my feet elevated.

I have to have another cystoscopy with hydrodistention, like I had in April and one of my interstims failed so I may have to have it replaced unless the Medtronic rep can revive it in the office.

Do you need them to urinate?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I need them to help me stop urinating so often. I go up to 25 times a day. I get so exhausted and need sleep all the time because I’m up all the time urinating. It is a bad disease.

Do you take potassium supplement? you’d lose it from the urine!
LikeLiked by 1 person
No, it is actually one of the supplements that will cause pain with this disease. B12 vitamins and cranberries are very painful too. I do eat a banana once in a while, but it causes bladder pain so not very often do I eat one.

It sounds complicated! I wonder if you could work with a nutritionist to find things you can eat to maintain your health while you’re being treated with your disease! I’m having high blood pressure again. I know I’m not taking enough potassium and calcium which regulate the blood pressure. So I’m adjusting my diet.

I am on a diabetic diet and an IC diet, so I’m very restricted on what I can eat. But I don’t lose any weight, or feel good, ever, so I might need some supplements. I will see my dr again soon where I can ask him about them.

Yes, get a lot of choices, try one at a time and see which one works!

I love the look of that seafood buffet. 1800 diners is quite something. I remember playing with a hula hoop as a child. Great for the waistline. Glad you had such a wonderful time. 😊

I took photos of the buffet set up, but didn’t want to post too many photos in one post. I limit myself from 4 to 10. I didn’t do too well with hula hoop, because of leck practice. My daughter did very well with 21 weeks of pregnancy!!
