Cee’s Share Your World – May 23, 2017
Cee has interesting questions (again) this week for Share Your World. I’m having fun answering them.

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?
This has something to do with travel. I always want to see the Northern Light. One year I checked the best day of the year to see the Aurora in Alaska, and then checked the airfare. It was way over what I would want to spend. A couple years later, my sister Yolanda and her husband Patrick went to Canada to see the Aurora. The photos were extraordinary. When my husband and I watch the nature channels, we discovered that a few other locations are also good places to see the magical Northern Light shows.
In fact, there are six best places to see the Northern Lights in winter. Now we have many options on hand.
Svalbard, Norway
Kakslauttanen, Finland
Jukkasjärvi, Sweden
Reykjavik, Iceland
Northern Canada
Scotland, United Kingdom

How often do you get a haircut?
I like long hair. My hair doesn’t grow too fast, so I may have hair cut twice a year. I trim the bangs every now and then.

In regards to puzzle what’s your choice: jigsaw, crossword, word search or numeric puzzles?
I don’t seem to have patience for puzzle, but I love playing games. My favorite game is Scrabble. My daughter is the only one interested in playing Scrabble with me. We both are very competitive. When my husband and I visit Mercy and Will, they always introduce new games to us. I love all kinds of board games.

How many cities have you lived? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.
I will definitely add it in my bucket list. When do you recommend is the time to see the Northern Lights

You can google it, such as ‘best time to see northern light from northern Canada’ or other location. When I search for Alaska years ago, it gave me the 3rd week of April for that year!

Oh, we’re a big Scrabble family as well. 🙂 At the holidays we just keep the board out and play for hours. One winter, when we couldn’t go out for days, due to ice storms,.and winter chill advisory, we played a record breaking 3 straight days!

Wow, I don’t mind playing 3 days straight through! The more I play, the better I am getting! Glad to know that your family play Scrabble also!

Well, we did take breaks to eat and sleep ha ha. But we just kept coming back to the board nothing else to really do.

We went to Anchorage, and went to one town to do rafting. The guide said that certain month of the year, there was no sunlight 24/7. People left town, except the watchman, then come back when the sun comes back to town. I don’t think I could live a life like that!

You are really lucky to visit and experience to live in so many cities Miriam. I never left my country. But yes visited many cities and travelled a lot within its boundaries. Going abroad is still a dream for me. Though your posts helps me to travel virtually 🙂
I love the bonding of you n your daughter. We used to play these games a lot in childhood ☺

Thank you, Meenakshi. She knows I love to play games. Whenever we visit them, she tries to make time for games.

Northern Minnesota is a good place to see them too! I only saw a faintness of them in our area once. Had an opportunity to see them when camping, but I was too tired. Hope to see them sometime in the future.

You can also see the northern lights in Montana. They’re pretty spectacular!

Oh, thank you for the tip! We’ll remember that when time comes. The airfare would be cheaper also for domestic flights! Thanks again!

Seeing the Northern Lights is also on my bucket list…and you’ve opened my eyes to the different locations! Even though I’ve painted Northern Lights, I had to imagine what it would look like in real life. I always thought one would need to travel to Europe to see but Northern Canada? Hmmm…the possibilities:)

Yes, I’m thinking about Northern Canada, the same place my sister and brother-in-law went!

I love Scrabble and all board games, too. No one here ever wants to play them, though. Glad you can get a game in now and then. 🙂
