“This is the first week for the series I call Photo Ops In Your Own House. This week the topic is Glasses, Cups, Saucers. I know your first question is, do I have to take all photos in my home and the answer is no your photos can be taken anywhere.” Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge.
Well, I took photos at home anyway. When we first started traveling, I loved to collect mugs (cups), but eventually I ran out of space to display all the cups. I changed to collect magnets. Here shows my early collection of cups.

Before I had cancer, I loved to entertain and had formal dinners. There are two sets of nicer China. One is Old Country Roses by Royal Albert. The other is a Chinese set. When I first came to Portland, Oregon as a student forty years ago, my older sister gave me one place setting. I wrapped up the pieces and hand carried in my carry-on bag. The following trips back to Hong Kong, I purchased a few sets at a time, enough to put in the carry-on bag. Eventually I completed ten place settings. The Chinese words on the dishes are 萬壽無疆 (Ten thousand ages without boundary), means longevity.

For glasses, we have different wine glasses, water goblets, shot glasses, and champagne flutes.
As for everyday use, I have different set of dishes, cups, and glasses.

Looking at your collection reminds me of the china my father brought my mother when he came back from Japan. He was there when he was on military leave in the 1950’s.

Yes, the Japanese China is quite similar to Chinese China!

The china is lovely. And very special due to the care you took in transporting the place settings. You must be very patient.

I hope you do, too! … they should be used, but if they were mine, I just know I’d break them on accident!
