Magnet Collection
My husband and I love to travel. I always tried to get some souvenirs that remind me of the places I have been. For many years, I collect mugs. Eventually I ran out of space to display my mug collections. Then I started to collect magnets. At first, I only collect flat magnets. Later on, the 3D magnets were more attractive to me. Now I have a mixture of both kinds of magnet. The international magnets represent some of the countries we have been. Some travels would be reminded by the mug collections!
What a great way to commemorate your journeys. !

Magnets are such a good idea! 😀 Saves space for sure, and are so neat! 🙂 I think my favorite of them is the little cuckoo clock from Germany! So adorable! 😍 Does the little person on the swing actually swing?

No, that little person doesn’t swing. There are cuckoo clock shops sell mechanic ones that the birds come out and the person swings, but they are larger decorative items!

Ah, okay. Haha, if the little person did swing, I was going to wonder how they made the working parts so small! 😂

I think it’s just the miniature of the real clock! 🙂

So cool! And also takes up less space than the full working version! 🙂

The real one are very expensive. I couldn’t afford one! Or I don’t spend money on those things!!

Oh, I bet! The little magnet is close enough and much less expensive, I’m sure! 🙂

Yes, My husband is sensitive to noises. He would turn off the cuckoo anyway!

🙂 We have a clock that chimes every hour (not a cuckoo though), but my parents have never wound it as far as I know. My dad is sensitive to noises too, much of the time – he gets migraine headaches and the smallest noise really makes the pain worse when he has one.

I like the look of the clocks that chime! I may not turn the chime on!

Me too! 🙂 Yes, leave the chime off!
My grandma had one that chimed every hour and I don’t think there was a way to make it not chime. While staying at her house, it drove me nuts when trying to sleep because it would wake me up every hour. I wish I could have turned it off!

I have a friend who has a grandfather clock. They either stopped rewinding the clock or just stopped the chime.

Oh, a grandfather clock! Those are beautiful! 🙂 I can’t blame them for doing that!

I only have one third on the refrigerator. Took them out for pictures. My husband doesn’t like knocking them down all the time….

You need to stick them to everything metal in the house, then he’ll change his mind 😉

Can I take back that “brilliant idea?” Wait, I’m not an Indian giver. I’ll see. If he does, I won’t tell you. If he doesn’t, I’ll tell you!

Your magnet collection is lovely Miriam. My husband and his sister both collect fridge magnets so they also have great collections. Ours are a bit battered as the boys used to play with them and they often got dropped.

In fact, quite a few of mine got dropped also, broken or magnet detached. I just put them in a box. I bet your husband and his sister have great collections. Almost look like badges one wears!
