It was a surprise today to see the baby doves were hatched. The Mama and Papa doves were not around. One of the baby dove looked big with dry feathers. I thought it was Mama dove. When I zoom in the camera, I saw another baby, and its feathers were still a little bit wet. Then they switched positions. I looked around to make sure the parent birds were not nearby, I put a lounge chair close to the nest and stood on it to take a few photos. The baby with dried feathers must be born first, and the other one later. The first baby seems to be a boy and the second, a girl. They looked healthy and lovely. I am going to take another look tomorrow.
Yes, I’m happy also. I had American Robin laid eggs two years ago, got stolen. I was so sad. They came back to the same nest in my front yard last year, laid three eggs and hatched four birds. They didn’t come the to same next this year!
That’s what I though. When we watch nature videos, the baby birds have their beaks in the parents’ throats. I think you’re right. So I’ll keep feeding the parents then. Thank you!
Aww, how cute! 😍 I’m glad that they hatched and weren’t stolen!

Oh, I remember you posting about the three eggs and four birds! That was so amazing! 🙂
Strange; I wonder why they chose a different nest this year?

Thank you Xenia. Mama is sitting with them, all night long, I think, to keep them warm!

Feeding the parents wil help the babies! The chicks will eat regurgitated food from their parents I think.

Yes, this morning, the Mama was sitting with them, probably overnight, to keep them warm. I’ll post the pictures later!
