July 8, 2017, full moon from Mimi Ditchie at See Canyon Road near Avila Beach, California. She wrote: “The full moon was a deep red color from the Alamo Fire to our southeast.”
Patti Weeks wrote: “The full moon was rising among the trees above a downtown building on a lovely pre-storm evening, Greenville, North Carolina.”

Some people either stayed up or got up super early like the one in Australia, to take the photos and uploaded to that website to share! Wow, astronauts from a few countries landed on there!

Hahaha likewise! I had got into the habit of getting up at 3am to make it for our early morning flights to Europe from London but now I am guessing we will not have many of those

Yes, people around the world submitted their photos to that site. I just picked a few to post. I took a few photos, but couldn’t stay up until midnight to take the 100% moon.

Magnificent photos Miriam. The full moon was also yellow in SA but in the photo I took with my very low tech cell phone it still appeared white. I don’t have a camera so love looking at other peoples great photos. Thank you for sharing.

I was able to take the photos of the moon in yellow but not red. My camera is 70x zoom, I zoom in to 96% to get the photos of my previous post. I didn’t stay up until midnight to take the photos on the 9th. The first photo was 100% full moon and the brightest, the other two were very close. It intrigues me enough to post them. The first one was taken in Australia!
