100 Word Wednesday – Week 26

Bikurgurl 2017
I grew up in Hong Kong
Islands surrounded by water
Taking the ferries was a daily matter
Vehicles went through tunnel under sea
When I came to Portland, Oregon
I lived by Willamette River
Crossing bridges was a must when going places
Then I came to Seattle, Washington
University was near Peugeot Sound
Walking on waterfront was always pleasant
Taking a trip to Floating Bridge was a treat
Now I live in Southern California
Live by a lake within walking distance
Beaches are just thirty minutes’ drive away
I am thankful to live close to the water all my life

Thank you, I feel like I’m made with water (wait, that’s true, the majority part of our body is water)…

Water is a source of life.
I like how you summarise your life in a few simple lines that also leaves a beautiful image in our imagination. Thanks for sharing it.

I love the water as well — and the way you wrote about it, really made me think of a great song I love, “I Come from the Water” by the Toadies ❤ Enjoy! https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=the%20toadies%20i%20come%20from%20the%20water&qs=SC&form=QBVR&sp=2&pq=thetoadies%20i%20&sk=SC1&sc=6-13&cvid=2BE728F92E4E4D639378F7CF6992506A

You’re very welcome! I only have time to make one post, don’t have time to visit though – something I enjoy doing. Hope to be back to normal after finish house painting!

Oh my – house projects take so long!! It always starts out as something simple, then a year later you’re on project #10! Good Luck and have fun painting!!

We’ve done the whole house in a 20-year span!

Oh my goodness! How fun — it’s really your own now 😉 We’ve done everything we’re going to do to our home since our deck resurfacing is nearly complete. There are always regular maintenance items, but I believe we’re finished with projects — Woo Hoo!!

The previous owner did some cosmetic jobs around the house. We need to redo them, but we only do it when we saved up. We don’t like to get loans!

I understand!! We saved up as well, but it takes time and strict adherence to no scope creep!

The one and only time was when Lowes has a 12-month loan with no interest when paid off within 12 months. I took that offer! Good chat. Time to bed. The electrical company is doing repairing work. No power tomorrow. So need to get up do something before they shut off the power for 7 1/2 hours. Good night!

Yikes! See you on the other side of your power outage!!

Didn’t know they extended the power outage hour! Check the email after the power is back on, but too late. That’s okay, we kind of took a nap!

Thanks for sharing. I love this caught my eye as I wrote a short story using Hong Kong as a setting! I also love a writing challenge, so I’ve signed up and will see if I can do one this Wednesday!
