Recognized and encouraged to reach their favorite stage
~ ~ ~
Note: I am the recipient of being discovered and nurtured my singing talent. I have been singing in public since my teenage years! I’m grateful for the choir leaders, my voice teachers, and groups invited me to be soloist.
I really like this post! It is so important to acknowledge and encourage young people to become the person they can be. This is true at all phases of life. I am writing poetry today because of a friend I met four years ago at a poetry group. I have written ten books, some memoirs, because an editor at Old Mountain Press liked a story I sent him of my teen years and suggested I write my memoirs. He then read some of it and made suggestions that changed the whole way I write. I am forever grateful to the persons in my life past and present who have urged me on to keep on growing. I hope I can do the same for others.

Oh that’s good to know. I have written more than 120 poems. Most of my tip bids are personal stories that I would like to put together one day. I have written about 6 posts of my childhood.
So true Miriam. We right guidance we can nurture the hidden talents in children or nip them in the bud . It’s very important for us to be sensitive to look out for the flair in children.
Am glad that you found elders who encouraged you with your singing. Best wishes 💜
Yes, give them opportunities to do different things. It takes time to get the sense of what they are good at. For some skills, it needs practice, as long as they don’t get bored. They’ll be good at it eventually.
I auditioned for our school choir when I was still in elementary but did not get accepted. My Journalism teacher honed my writing skills and that’s when I realized that maybe my gift is writing. My daughter loves dancing and singing and writes from time to time as well. Good job on your singing talent, Miriam. I hope you inspire more people 🙂
Thank you so much for your comment. What we like to do as a kid may just be the idea of admiring people who do it and may not be our talent to do it naturally. That’s why as parents, we let our kids exposed to many possibilities and let them find something they naturally do with enjoyment. I’m glad your Journalism teacher discover your writing skills. My daughter is very good in photography
Thank you, Debbie! I discovered many talents in my students also. The parents love me because I helped their kids to excel! Help someone to success is a blessing. Love, Miriam
You must be an awesome teacher Miriam, love from these little kids in return what we give them is immense.
