Paula’s Thursday’s Special theme for this week is “windows.”
When we were in Toledo, Spain, we visited the original sword manufactory where swords were hand forged. This factory is now used only for demonstration. The new factory has new technology and machines to process a higher volume of production. The sword master explained that all the swords used in the movie “The Lord of the Rings” were produced there.
I was intrigued by so many designs of swords. The Showcase Windows display interesting swords to attract tourists to step inside the steel souvenir shop. One Showcase Window is accented by famous Spanish architecture of an arch frame.
My husband checked out many swords. He was entertained of obtaining a Japanese Samurai sword!
Compliments for the choice of subject and what a wonderful idea it was to visit it in the first place. This has been a very entertaining challenge for me looking at so many different entries. Wishing you a great weekend, Miriam. Thank you for your lovely entry.
That is truly one ornate window pane! As for samurai swords – amazing collection. In Singapore this is considered a “weapon” and no one is allowed to bring this in, without a special permit. Which is good, else the damage can be quite bad if one owns it and decides to use it like a shogun of sorts LOL!
Hi Miriam, Very creative of you to use those windows!
I was in Toledo last year , but sadly didn’t manage to see the sword factory. Looks fascinating.
Regards. Marie.
Hi Marie, we were with a tour, so it must be a popular itinerary. The shop was fascinating. Due to the prompt, I didn’t show too many photos inside of the shop. Thank you for the comment!
The swords remind me so much of one of my sons who always wanted a sword for Christmas.

thank you, Paula. I stretched it a little bit. I thought of doing something different than showing many of my stain glass windows.

I had a Toledo sword when I was young (cool looking, but not an expensive one). Always wanted to visit the factory.
