Tuesday Photo Challenge – Shades of Pink Flowers
“Pink. Of course, there are many shades of pink.” – Frank
I can think of a lot of pink things for this challenge. Somehow my thought goes right to the flowers in my garden, I realize there are many shades of pink flowers. In my watercolor painting class, I learn to call the colors by their proper names. Here is a chart of different shades of pink.
I am not going to name my “pink” flowers by their proper names of shades. So they are all pink flowers in my garden. You can find the proper names for my flowers!!

Pink and Yellow Rose

Pink Hibiscus

Pink Rose

Pink Daylily

Pink Camellia

Pink Begonia

Pink Geranium
Great selection from the pink section of your garden. Hope you show off the rest of the colours some time soon.

The concept of “pink” ranges over a lot of shades even magenta.

Yes, so close to purple, but is still in “pink” group, surprise!

i love the first photo – so unusual! And of course all the flowers. My mom’s favorite color is dark pink. Your photos make me think of her!

Thank you, Teresa. The first photo is from my favorite rose bush. I have several prints of the same roses hung on my wall! Dark pink is pretty. I have dark pink and fuchsia blouses.

Thank you for your kind words, Debbie. I didn’t know salmon is consider as pink. I know fuchsia and mauve, but didn’t know the other names either. When I do watercolor, I just mix the colors until I like it. Blessing to you, Miriam

And thanks for sharing this list of the proper names of pink shades
I thought magenta is purple and strawberry is red 😃

Yes, purple has many shades with different names also, So does red. But most of the people just call them by the basic colors. Only the artists or painters call them by the proper names. 🙂
