Weekly Photo Challenge: Corner – Historial Sites, China
Our family vacation trip to China includes Beijing, Xi’an, and Guilin. We visited many historical sites. The structures of those sites were well preserved. Every corner we turned was a perfect angle for photo. It was a delightful family trip!

Yes, if it’s a first visit, Beijing usually is on top of the list. I lived in Hong Kong many year but never went to see the Great Wall. Years after I came to US, our family went together.

Miriam,
Your pictures are simply beautiful. As an artist, I would love to visit China and paint my heart out. The Terra Cotta Warriors are amazing!!! The Summer Place is also a beautiful place. I plan to share this post with others. Thanks and keep taking these lovely pictures.

Joyce, thank you very much for your comment. I have two paintings of the Great Wall, using Chinese brush to paint. I take watercolor class, I’m tempted to paint some also. We had a Chinese artist to demonstrate, he paints from his memories of places. He murals goes on and on forever. So when he has exhibits, he had a special way to transport his painting. You’ll find a lot of inspiration for your painting when go to China!!

Wonderful pictures, Miriam. China gets so much bad press in the US these days, but it’s such a beautiful and fascinating country (though I have never been there myself). One of my favorite books is a memoir, Letters From China, written by an American man who went to China to teach English and fell in love with the country and formed very warm friendships with his students. I can’t recall his name right now, unfortunately.

These are great. I had to do an art project on China then it morphed and it went was does to Indonesia. But anyways, I feel like you got some angles and pictures that are different then what I saw after hours spent pinterest for references.

Thank you very much! Personal pictures may not be the same as commercial pictures!

No they are not. I really like personal pictures many times, as they are just different then professional. They seem more real many times.

Yes, China is one of the few countries that has at least 4000 years of history. Many emperors in many dynasties built amazing buildings. The terracotta warriors is a tomb like King Tut’s’ tomb. The warriors were buried alive with the death of an emperor.
