Weekend Writing Prompt #17 – Emptiness
Prose Challenge – Write a 50-word story inspired by the image above.
Poetry Challenge – Write a haiku on the theme of “emptiness”. – Sammi Cox
~
Caged in and dared not touch the screen for fear of electrical shots caused by piercing words. The sun looked bright with warmth and freedom, yet desires were suppressed. His eyes were dark, black, and bottomless with emptiness. Satisfied his craziness was impossible. Legal bondage was dissolved, no more cage.

Unmeasurable
Deep void of heart’s emptiness
Refuse fulfilment

Hey Miriam,
That’s my pleasure, thank you for intrigue. The story underpinning the poem leaves me sad, no-one should be without Love or reject it in favour of emptiness. Perhaps one day he will surrender in spirit 🙂
Best wishes, brightest blessings. Have a wonderful week!
Namaste 🙂

Hey Miriam,
Two accomplished entries for Sammi’s Challenge! Both are unique and original. Thank you. The Haiku in particular held my fascination and interest: the imponderable depth of an unfulfilled empty heart must be a very heavy bitter-sweet weight to carry around. When life is so rich in beauty and wonder, I cannot imagine anyone being without Love.
Thank you Miriam. I shall look forward to reading next week’s submission from you.
Hoping you’ve enjoyed a wonderful and shall be blessed with a delightful week as well. Take care in all ways always.
Namaste 🙂

Hi Dewin, Thank you so much for your comment and you understanding of the sentiment. They both are true stories. The second one is still true in life. He is bitter and lonely without love in a remote area because he reject love.
Namaste,
Miriam

Thank you for your comment. I can’t believe how I lived through that. I’m thankful that it was ages ago!
