You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I in finding this topic to be actually one thing that I think I’d never understand. It kind of feels too complicated and very huge for me. I’m taking a look forward on your next post, I will try to get the dangle of it!
The first thing that came to my mind when reading your poem is about the birds laying their eggs near your door or in your garden, i think they feel safe as well as your good care which is wonderful! is it a birdhouse? If so it may be good if you make the hole smaller so the squirrels can not reach the eggs. It is the first time to know that squirrels eat eggs!
Thanks for sharing and kind regards
Nahla
Thank you, Robbie! In fact, when the eggs were eaten, no egg shell was seen anywhere! It happened two years to different birds in y front and back yard!
Thank you, Sue. Two mourning dove chicks were hatched. I made a post (maybe two) about the birds. Sadly, we saw some feathers scattered on our lawn. The feathers are mourning bird feathers. I wanted to cry, and I was upset about the squirrel(s). My husband said he saw a second squirrel!!
Yes, One bird kept pecking the cat for days. Then the squirrel climbed to the tree from the wires above!! I know that the whole food chain. I got attached to the birds I feed!!!
I had nest built just outside of my front door, eggs laid, but were stolen after a few days. I was so sad. Last year the mourning bird laid eggs in my backyard, again they were gone. I think it was the squirrel that did it. This year, the mourning dove laid eggs under between the eave and top of window. Two birds were hatched. But two days ago, we saw feather on the lawn. The feather belong to the mourning bird, must be one of the baby bird. I’m upset about the black cat and the squirrel. My husband said he saw a second squirrel. Oh no…….

Oh Tahla, I didn’t think of making a birdhouse. The birds built their own nests. I’ll try to get a birdhouse see if they would use it.

Thank you, I saw the 3 birds in my yard, the parents and one chick. They look okay. So I’m okay.

The cat who adopted my son brings birds in most days… in spite of the bell she now wears:(

OH, no. We watch nature video every night before bedtime. I close my eyes when there is a kill.

I wouldn’t mind, but she is very wel fed. The hunting instinct in her is very strong.

Amazing words, but so true, I hadn’t thought about it like that, a life destroyed in a few minutes.

Yes, I understand that cat is street cat, he has to find food, so do the squirrels…
