Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “hot/cold.” Use one, use both, bonus pointsif you start your post with one and end with the other. Enjoy! – Linda G Hill
Cold air doesn’t agree with my body temperature. When I get up in the morning, I bundle up with several layers so that I wouldn’t feel the cold in the house. I start my day with two cups of hot coffee with cream, no sugar. I usually like to drink my coffee in the garden, checking on the flowers and plants. Sometimes I end up trimming the roses or pulling weeds. By the time I’m done with the coffee, I’m ready to peel off one layer at a time.
The cold in the winter makes me less motivated to go outside. It helps when the heater is on a timer so I could wait for the house to warm up before I get up. Other than the hot coffee I drink first thing in the morning, I also drink hot tea most of the day, except that I only use one tea bag and keep adding hot water to it.
After 4:00 p.m. I would have no caffeine or sweet because they keep me awake at night, so I only drink hot water. When we go out to restaurants, I order hot water. Most of the restaurants serve ice cold water, I have to make sure the servers hear me saying, “Hot.”
This is very nice! It makes me smile.
I like your idea of having one tea bag and just add hot water through the day. I will try this and i think it will be fine as i usually add milk to my tea.
I agree with you 100%. Don’t like cold and can’t stand winter. Now that I’m older cold freezing temps are bad for my painful arthritic joints. Also the skin actually comes off my arms and legs in winter. I get horrible skin rashes. Until I discovered Coconut Oil a few years ago my hair would fall out and break off. Summer is my best season. My skin heals and my hair grows. My African ancestry loathes icy cold freezing winter weather.
Yes, even my daughter uses coconut oil for her stretch mark right now for her pregnancy. My husband put coconut oil on his super dry skin feet, wrap the feet with plastic bags to let the oil soaked in. My skull is itchy also, I used to rub the “seven seeds oil” on my skull, cover it with shower hat to go to a stream room at the gym or just during regular shower. So coconut oil is beneficial to most people!
Thank you for your comment! Have a wonderful weekend!
Those tea bags do go a long way. I have to watch the caffeine in the PM, too, so I get hot water with lemon at restaurants, preferably in a coffee mug.
Isn’t amazing how difficult it is to order Hot Water in restaurants? I remember my Mom trying to get some when we were in the US, and it was quite a fiasco! Singapore is much better now; they even ask you which you would prefer, hot or cold?

This is much better but even in Egypt, just in the morning we used to have our tea with milk. I love minted tea too!

Yes, tea and coffee, different cultures have them in different ways!

My mom and I do the same thing with tea bags – keep pouring hot water on it. 😄

Yes, that’s what I do all the time. I don’t get bored. In a sense, it’s discipline to me!

That’s a great idea using one tea bag over and over, I’m going to try that 👍

Yes, it gets weaker and weaker toward the afternoon when I can’t have caffeine. You painting looks just like you!

What a delight that they ask! When I went to Vietnamese restaurants, they give me boiling water to which I don’t mind at all.

A lovely post, Miriam. I am also always cold. Even when they had the heat wave while we were in England recently I was not unbearably hot.

Thank you, Robbie! I imagine the heatwave in England was not too dry since it rains often. Dry heat bother my throat and nose when breathing!
