When I look into the sky in Portland, Oregon, I can see a true blue sky on a clear day. The autumn afternoon in the first photo, there were thin clouds in the air. By looking at the trailing of the clouds, I could see the direction of the wind.
The second photo was when we went on a dinner cruise in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon, watching the sunset and the beautiful sky.
Apparently I love to take photos of the clouds and sky. The third photo was at Laguna Beach, California when the sun peeked out from the rain clouds.
The last photo was in Laguna Lake by my home on this quiet afternoon, with the clouds and sky reflected in the calm water.

Dif Mercy do ok on her own last week? How’s Autumn?
Today is a travel day for me and my husband, going home. Yesterday all the family left and we had a lovely day on the Monterey Peninsula, found a treasure of a bookstore in the Carmel Valley, did some coastal wave-watching where there Walter crashing waves in a high tide yesterday, some surfers in wet suits out there! Cold (55 degrees) but kept a lot of Sunday tourists at home. Had a great time. 🙂
Let us know how your visit goes w mercy and Autumn ! I just found out that Theresa (my name) also means Autumn! (Or harvest) ❤
How interesting! Teresa also means Autumn! Mercy was exhausted last week, tried to pump and feed, double work.
They have another lactation appointment this Monday morning. I told her not to rule out formula feeding. She has to take a break from feeding for her nipples to heal. Will find out some more when I get there this afternoon.
It’s lovely that you stay in Monterey Bay just the two of you before and after, take your own vacation.
Hope you feel refreshed!
Thank you, Frank! We like to go to Laguna Beach, CA a lot. I wish I could find a spot to take sunset photo there. So far, we haven’t walked far enough to go behind the hill yet!
Yes, Xenia. In fact, there was a wedding and a couple birthday parties on that cruise. I think the beautiful sky made their occasions more special!! xox
I like all of them but I especially love the second one because of the feel and mood it reflects, of tranquility. I am a cloud chaser too, Miriam, so I get your fascination with the sky. But it is amazing that you can read the direction of the wind from watching the clouds. xx
Gorgeous skyscapes. I have not been to Portland, Oregon since a I was maybe 8 yrs old as a child. I don’t see, to remember the blue skies but these beautiful a white sand dunes and beaches with crabs, shells, and other stuff littering the beach towards the ocean. My Mom kept pulling us back from the ocean. Thanks for the beautiful skyscapes they are divine and for the memories you unearthed.
Cheers,
I’m glad the photos brought back some of your precious memories. When I first came to U.S. as a student 49 years ago, I came to Portland, Oregon. I remember the autumn season very well. I miss it so much when I moved to where I am, southern California. I’m glad my daughter is in Oregon so that I can visit her, especially this year I was there in autumn and see the changing season!
Beautiful photos, Miriam! I’m so glad that you live in such a beautiful area. 🙂 Sending you blessings. Great contribution for Frank’s challenge. I love you – Debbie

Yes, sometimes the wind is so strong that I could actually see the clouds moving!

Oh yeah we enjoy taking photos of the sky too. And the clouds may present a lot of shapes for us to ponder over.

Yes, sometimes I try to look for cloud shapes that look like certain things and take photos of those!
