Share Your World – November 13, 2017
This is my response to Cee’s Share Your World – November 13, 2107
Do you ever sit on a park bench for more than ten minutes?
We do that often, especially in Laguna Lake. My husband and I love to walk around Laguna Lake which is 0.77 miles around. We walk around the lake twice, then find a shaded bench and sit down. The lake is a home to many kinds of ducks, Egyptian Geese, turtle and many sea creatures. The irrigation system keeps the water of the lake flowing while there is stillness on a calm day. In the summer, the ducks enjoy their lazy nap by tugging their heads under the wings. We relax and watch people doing their leisure fishing, riding their horses, their bikes, jogging, walking their dogs, or walking their babies in strollers.
When you lose electricity in a storm, do you light the candles, turn on the flashlight or use your cell phone for light?
We do all of them. My husband has a large rechargeable industrial lantern by the bed upstairs. We have different sizes of flashlights. When the electricity is out due to a storm or other reasons, I usually turn on a small flashlight to find the lighter to light the candles. As soon as I have five or six candles lit, I would turn off the flashlight. Candles light up the immediate areas around each candle. With several candles. We could see quite well walking around the house.
Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers?
Given $10,000 for my own use would only benefit me. But given $100,000 to give to strangers would benefit many people. I would give $500 to each individual and $1000 to each family. So, it would benefit more than 100 individuals and families.
Hey! This is the link to my blog, a beautiful story of two young souls.

Awww! It’s because I’m living an extended life. I survived a near death cancer. Every day is a gift to me, Even during the treatment, I kept saying, I had no complaint, despite of my skeleton look – skin and bone. The chemo drugs burnt my bad cells as well as the good cells. I had no energy to pick up my feet to walk. When I came home from the first week of inpatient treatment, I wanted to take a shower badly. My husband said I crawled to the bathroom (I don’t even remember). So… it really changed my outlook of life. Now you know my secret…

I plod along, happy with my personal life, Tinnitus still a pain in the ear though. With the likes of your goodself and the life sufferings of other people I consider myself a very lucky person! Thanks for asking Miriam, A polite reminder, we have been this way before, the strange thing about me remembering that is my short term memory is just about zilch, its the only one thing that does cause me concern.

My tinnitus got so bad for a while, then I discovered my blood pressure came back, slightly high. The doctor said my blood pressure would affect the tinnitus, so I’m taking the lowest dose of med. I also discovered that vitamin E balances blood pressure, so I’m taking additional E. It does control the craziness of the high and loud pitch. Both my husband’s and my short term memories are going out. We make notes for everything we have to do and write it down right away. Sometimes I stare at a 30 years long friend and can remember her name, but the name comes back after several hours. We don’t get upset about it, just compensate it as much as possible.
Best wishes to you! Have a good day!

No I don’t get upset about anything to do with my body, hey I’ve had a good life. Mind you it often reminds me that there is certain things I can’t do anymore, like walking the miles I used to do. I do miss the long walks, but my garden as small as it is, surprises me every day. There is one thing that scares me and that is going blind. Might just call it a day when that happens.

A friend had problem with her eyes. Her husband had the windows of the whole house tinted. She has to wear three layers of lenses when going out. She is almost blind but still gets on Facebook to post and comment and keep in touch with people. She is in pain but tried to do her best to cope.

Thank you, Robbie! I remember the first few years of my daughter – it went by so fast and the growing is amazing. I wish I had time to keep a journal of those years. Within the last 8 weeks, the baby grew so much. I want to see and feel those amazing moments!

Thank you Miriam for those beautiful photos and your thoughts around. A lake gives so much, in it we see the words above as well as the lake. The sky, the trees and a mirror of ourselves. What a perfect walk.to just sit and dream is also heavenly.
If the electricity goes I would also go for the candles , soft and bright. Candles play a big part in the home already and especially as winter is coming and early dark evenings. Softens all around.
Loved your post

Thank you for taking time to comment. I appreciate it. I live the lake. We go 3 times a week. I have a lot of candles in the house. Some herbal candles even cleared my nasal congestion.

I haven’t seen herbal candles here, only spice scented. Herbal oils I use for burning little oil lamps.

The picture of the lake is simply beautiful, Miriam. I myself have spent my childhood beside one. Our morning walks, the sight of the migratory birds, the boat rides are the memories that played in my mind’s eye when I saw this picture.
