I have problem with my new laptop, was not able to do anything with my blog for days. I feel like I’m cripled. The battery stopping charging right after Christmas. I had to wait until coming back to California to take it back to the store. The laptop is only two months old, so it is under full warrenty. I’m using my hugsband’s desktop computer.
I have some backtracking to do.
We had a white Christmas. When we were still in the air on Christmas Eve, looking down to Portland area, we saw a blanket of snow. I was so excited, because I haven’t had a white Christmas for 30 years. The snow only last for one day.
We open the gifts on Christmas day. Mercy and Will got many new board games from Autumn. She knows mommy and daddy love to play games. My husband and I learned one new game each day while we were in Portland for the whole week. My daughter went back to work after maternity leave. I had a chance to watch Autumn all days on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday was Mercy’s birthday, so we went out in the evening for dinner and had cakes and pie for dessert. Then went home to play a game.
Mercy had Thursday and Friday off becuase she only went back to work part-time. During her days off, she went to the gym and started working out and getting back in shape. Friday evening, Lynton and I watched Autumn so that Mercy and Will could go on a movie and dinner date. They had such a good time.
We left on Saturday, but in the future years, we’ll go back to see the baby every four to six weeks. It’s such a joy watching her growing up, learning to grab things with both hands, looking at herself in the mirror and smiles, and started cooing and laughing. We don’t want to miss any of these precious moments.
We had a White CHRISTmas in the Columbia River Gorge in Troutdale Oregon 2017!! On CHRISTmas day we had to drive to my Cousins house in Oregon City, we barely made it there!!
God Bless all my Sisters and Brothers in Christ Jesus-Yeshua and Your Families and Friends!!

Thank Kristi Ann! Yes, I was in Portland. I used to go to school close to Oregon City. We had a wonderful white Christmas! God’s blessings on you in 2018!
We used to use a wood stove every winter and the dry air made my nose crazy! (I finally set a pot of water on the wood stove to put some steam in the air. That helped, haha. I put a few orange peels in there and it smelled so good!)
Oh! That’s great! I may look into getting some. 🙂 I just bought a new steam inhaler (for allergies and colds) that has an aromatherapy tray for essential oils… I’ve been putting only water in there for the steam, but I love the idea of adding eucalyptus and lavender.
Oh, that is a thoughtful gift! 🙂 How many different kinds of oil did you get in it?
My parents weren’t sure what to get me for Christmas, so they let me pick out a few things. I picked out a Mabis Steam Inhaler. I’m looking at essential oils for it. I see several sets online that might be fun to experiment with. 🙂
I don’t know if there are any stores in the mall carry essential oil. You kind of rub some on your skin and smell it to see if you like it. I don’t like smell or strong smell. So it’s quite personal. 🙂
Oooh, I see. Haha, I’m so far away from a mall, I don’t know when I could get to one, sadly. I was thinking about seeing if a health food store might have it, or just taking a chance and ordering a sample pack online to see what I like. I have always liked lavender scents, so lavender is a must! And you said that eucalyptus helps with allergies so I would like to have that too in preparation for spring allergies. 🙂
Thanks! Me too. 🙂 I think I’ve found a sample pack that I might order. It has chamomile, sandalwood, lavender, tea tree, peppermint, eucalyptus, lemongrass, vetiver, jasmine, and orange. Have you tried any of these besides eucalyptus and lavender?
I really like your mall idea; I wish I could go sample them there. The nearest mall is about 45 minutes away and with my dad is still ill, and we can’t leave him that long.
I like peppermint, jasmine. I may have sampled lemongrass and tea tree. I think this sample pack you ordered is very good.
Sorry that your dad is still so ill that you cannot be away for too long. It’s good that you’re there taking care of him!
Yes, men usually don’t want to make a big deal out of the physical discomfort. Situations like this, I usually say, “It’s for me to have a peace of mind. Would you do it for me?”
We were so please to see snow (as Californian). Some people living in areas below freezing may not care too much about snow and freezing rain. Autumn is growing and having more interaction. It’s so much fun to be with her. Thank you for your comment!
Thank you for your comforting words and thank you for your comment. We had a great family holiday. It has to be sent to the manufactor-2 to 3 weeks turn around time. Won’t be able to do as much as I want at the meantime, but it will pass!
Yes, my new laptop is with the manufacturer. Tried to get the old one fixed, but would cost $600. Just bought an older version with less than that amount, use it as backup anyway. Thanks again!
I loved your post, the pics, and the name! What lovely names!
Praying your laptop is well soon. So glad you had a blessed time… and your white Christmas 🙂
God loves you!
Thank you so much for your comment. It’s a long story behind the name of my blog. I love the name of your blog also. What a witness to name your blog. Thank you for your kind word about my laptop. New things may not be a better thing though. My older laptops, computers last longer than that before any problems. Blessings to you.
Do you have your long story posted on your page somewhere? Surely it is a blessed story. With lovely names like that, there must be a lovely story.
PTL and thank you for your kind words. The most important thing I want anyone to know about me, it is that I love God. If there is one thing they will let me tell them, it is that God loves them! ❤
Praying God works things out for you!
I’m writing my memroir. So that particular story has not been posted yet. When I first took voice lesson, “Make Me a Blessing” was the first sone I learn to sing along with the Italian and French songs. My teacher wanted my singing to be a ministry!
I had no idea that Portland got snow. I didn’t get any down here in Canby, but then we are warmer than they are even though we aren’t that far away. Sorry about your computer.
The snow was not heavy, just enough to cover the surface. We had some freezing rain also.
I don’t know about all the new computers. They are ultra thin, only has 2 USB ports. My previous laptop uses external DVD drive already. Maybe I should get a heavy and solid one…
Thank you so much, Kim. She used to have a joint birthday party with a friend that has the same birthday. This year, Autumn is the priority. Yes, we keep her warm!!
Miriam, thanks to the malfunctioning laptop you got even more time with your precious family.
Your photos are beautiful and people full of smiles.
The laptop will fix. Don’t we all get very dependent on these machines.
What would a desert island be like now……..writing in the sand.
Bless you and a happy new year

You’re perfectly right, Miriam! My husband wanted to live in an island when retired. That’s not my idea of retirement, growing up as a city girl. Now we’re retired, we try not to hurry, so yes, family time is more precious.
By the way, I love dolphins. My daughter and I took a ceramic class together when she was small. My first project was painting a double dolphins piece.
Have a happy and blessed new year!
Such lovely pictures, Miriam!

That’s great and encouraging. 😀 I love peppermint and jasmine in tea, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy them in essential oil form too.

I hope so. He hasn't been diagnosed with anything, so we don't know what is wrong. We have a guess form Internet research, but it's just a guess.
