Colleen’s Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge – Congregate & Passion
This week for Colleen’s Poetry Challenge, I use Flocks for Congregate and Seek for Passion.
Migratory birds
Travel thousands of miles
In huge flocks soaring
Seek destination to breed
In need of conservation

Hi, Miriam! Lovely Tanka! The pictures are gorgeous. I love watching flocks of birds, it’s amazing how well coordinated they are when flying together. We get many different birds flocking to Florida for the winter. Great use of the prompt words too. 😀 xx

Thank you, Vashti. I understand that the birds take turn to lead in migration. When flying together, they ride in the tail wind.
I’ve been to Tampa – Disney World a couple times. The last trip was Key West. My husband wants to go back. The sunset was gorgeous, 🙂 xox

That’s interesting to know, Miriam. I always wondered how the lead bird was chosen, it’s fascinating that they take turns. Tampa and Orlando are great for their amusement parks. Key West is a great place to relax or enjoy water sports, eat great seafood and watch the sun set over the water. They have a sunset festival every day or weekend, I don’t remember which, in the square by the water. Come back and visit some of the other Keys. 😀 xx

Yes, we’ll come back and we had some recommendation from friends who visited other Keys. 🙂 xox

Thank you, Meenakshi! I’m getting my poetry book together, not as long as yours. My memoir is taking a turn. I won’t publish my story with my ex for now. He may come to haunt me. I’ll have to start from other period of my life.

We should not repeat painful things even in mind. Its perfectly fine to start from second half Miriam, the bright one 🙂

You’re right, Meenakshi. I started already but have not gone too far because I started the other half first. Thank you so much! 🙂

Beautifully done Miriam. I’m just dipping my toes into these challenges and enjoy reading what others come up with. ❤

Thank you, Debby. Reading others helps me also instead of finding something from “blank.” ❤

I have selected and compiled about 100 poems to publish. One person from my poetry class does editing for the class members. I’m almost done with copy and paste to 6×9 Word doc. then save it as PDF, Another person will help me upload to Create Space. I probably can do it, but it’s always good to work with another person. I designed my own cover. I’ll do paper publishing first, then shoot it to Kindle. But still have a lot to do. ❤

I wish you lots of luck with the process. Good to hear you have help. ❤

This is a group of retired and semi-retired people. They are professionals but retired. In the poetry class, most of them are educators, teachers and administrators like me. We have one publisher in our group.
She is in the writing critique class.
Yes, I feel good to be among these people who are experts but using their skills for fun. ❤

Yes, Scott. You have a wonderful poem. I bought your first poetry book when you wrote one poem a day for a year.
Wild life sanctuary affects the whole ecosystem. Last night we watched the leopards live among the city people in India, and many were killed because they were out searching for food at night. 🙂

We’re in the middle of a whole house flooring renovation. Yikes, it’s been a mess. ❤

I remember you saying that. You’re brave. We did the tiles in the kitchen and the hallway downstairs years ago. Then we saw the carpet in a warehouse we like, and did the carpet for dining room, family room downstairs, 14 steps and three rooms upstairs in the second round. The second master bedroom downstairs is my husband’s office and he did wood floor by himself in a separate time. I remember when we had the “cottage cheese” ceiling done for the whole house, we stayed in the hotel for three days. ❤ Your floor will be wonderful when it's done. Everything else is secondary for now. 🙂

Oh, my goodness. You totally understand. We did vinyl wood flooring upstairs which is bigger than my downstairs. Yes, the stairs are included in this makeover too. Yikes… 17 of them. I’ll be so happy when this is all over. LOL! Thanks for all of your well wishes. 😀 ❤

You’re welcome, Colleen. At least you have the whole house done all at once and no worry for the second or third installments. 🙂 ❤

Oh, wow! Two weeks is long. Hope you survive and the completion soon. When we remodeled the kitchen, we put a portable burner in the bathroom for cooking (didn’t have outlets outside of the house). 🙂
