Authors’ Day
The Authors’ Day for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at California State University, Fullerton, California was on October 4, 2018. OLLI is a program for the semi-retired and retired individuals. The program offers a couple hundred classes and are conducted by volunteer retired professionals. One class is Publish Before You Perish. The OLLI members have published many books. On this day, the authors promoted their books and did the book signing.
There were fourteen authors at the October 4 Authors’ Day. I’m still in the final stage of editing my poetry book but was invited to take part for the pre-launch promotion.
The next Authors’ Day will be on October 27, 2018 at the Fullerton Public Library. Besides the book promotion, there will be three panel presentations by the best-selling authors and some OLLI authors.
You may get it on Indian site of Amazon. Even your review was not appearing on my regular Amazon page but it was there on international page.
I will try to take a screenshot and send you. The book will arrive in first week of Dec. Maybe after the payment made the review go online.

I’m feeling relaxed a little bit and will get on the regular blogging for a while.
I don’t know why your review has not shown up yet. One other reviewer also kept checking and finally I told her it’s posted. I think Amazon checks to make sure it’s not spam. Thank you again for your review. 🙂

It’s from 11 am to 5 pm with five panel presentations. I’ll be there and make sure to go home early enough to go to the Glitz.
Jenni Key is one of my readers and endorser. I rewrote About the Author 5 times. Janet Dean is proofreading my final drift about 110 word.
I can send you a PDF file and you can proofread before I click complete on Amazon. ❤ xox

No, for my book! Their suggestion is good.

Oh, okay. I think so too. Even though I haven’t read it I know the bio shouldn’t be too long. 🙂

OLLI must be a nationwide thing: Kennesaw State University near me has it as well. Great idea!

Yes, it is, John. The last I heard, it is in 26 states. When I registered for this year, I mistakenly registered to OLLI in Alaska. They called me right away because of my address and asked me if I wanted to cancel it!
I love it. I have been taking classes for four years!

Thank you so much, Debbie. I was dragging to write my memoir of the bad days. But I did write several poems under the them of dissonance – the pain and forgiveness. ❤
Love, Miriam 🙂

I finally enlarge the view to 150% on my laptop screen and found some missing punctuation. Why didn’t I do it earlier? 🙂

well good for you
– and I have not read a lot of your poetry – but double check to make sure you want to keep pronouns and conjunctions and any extra words that might be omitted for a nicer flow –
Just a little tip I learned a while back –
sometimes flow is enhanced (depends on the author’s goal) when we take out some of these words – and some of my favorite poems have sieved these extra words that often bring very little to the prose – depends tho

Yes, thank you, Y. I did that in my final editing that two readers and my editor didn’t noticed. They might have thought it was how I wanted, but I caught some of the flow.
I write in short story style – not too much guessing of what I want to say! So the pronoun-verb agreement, conjunction, transitional words are considered.

got it – and it always has to be true to the author – and what they feel and share. – especially with poetry,
Further, I know some of your poems were written during certain times and to change things sometimes pulls from the essence and mood of that time – and who you were then – and what was going on and how God was leading and feeding.
and so in my view – those need to stay as much as possible the same as when they were penned.

Not sounding like a know it all – because I really am still learning so much here and made mistakes with my self-publishing – but When we chime in many times we just sharpen each other – right?
I will check it out tomorrow night

Thank you so much, Y. I’m glad to have a great publishing team from this program at CSU, Fullerton. But I don’t want my first book to be an experiment. I want it to be the best way I know how to do it. After I get my proof reading copy, I’ll have someone besides myself to read it again, before I put it up on Amazon.
