Winter Cheer – A Poem

Winter Cheer
The blooms were gone in this cold winter.
I expected no other colors but green,
the eucalyptus, date palms
and hibiscus trees.
To my surprise, there were
bright and soft colors
in the rose bushes.
Rose buds were waiting to
unfold their inner beauty,
showing the winter cheer.
Nice poem. If you have time do visit my poem Here

Instead of colorful glass balls on your indoor tree, you found color and beauty in your outside environment! Such a beautiful way to express this, Miriam!

Thank you, Robin. The rain helped to boost the flowers. We’ll visit my daughter for Christmas, so I didn’t decorate indoor this year!

Enjoy precious time with your granddaughter, Miriam. Grandchildren are such special gifts who make such an impact on our middle years in life and their younger years. Lifting us up and our choice of sharing time raises their confidence. We do flashlight hikes at night, games, puzzles and I am teaching them all cooking. My three year old preschool grandson has learned to stay in his seat at a movie theatre or concert; he’s the youngest! ❤️💙❤️💚

Oh wow. It’s amazing of what you do with your three year old grandson. I think my daughter is doing a good job with Autumn also. I wish living next to them but just enjoy every moment I have with them. ❤ ❤ 🙂

You take the time to see her and Autumn will remember you, Miriam! ❤️
You will have something unique to add to her life in your sharing love of books 📚 and words.📄 My grandies like making books, using a stapler and hard paper to scribble designs and letters up through to the older ones making their parents stories to give them. (I have 7 grandies, 3 adult children.) 🙂

How lovely for the roses to show now! I wish mine would do that but it’s much too cold. Thank you for sharing with us, Miriam. You brought a bit of summer back for everyone ❤️

Thank you, Dorinda. Our summer this year was terrible, 102 to 104 F for 6 weeks. The roses shrank. They came back alive after the rain. ❤ How is the weather where you are, oh and where are you? I'm good in remembering once you tell me. ❤

We’ve had a rainy weekend with mild temps but the nights have gone down into the 20’s. I’m in New Jersey. It’s too early to be this cold!

The weather is all messed up this year. We never had 102F in July!

I’ll take it, even for one day! It’s too cold here, too soon.

For 6 months, then it’s daytime all the time. Definitely not for me!
