Lens-Artists Challenge #65 – Pick a Place
The theme the week from Tina for Lens-Artists Challenge #65 is: Pick a Place
I knew exactly the right place for this post. I waited until today to do it because I’m traveling.
Maui was the place in which my hubby and I got married. We went back multiple times and stayed at Kihei where has less tourism. Maui is a small island. It took only three trips for us to go all the way around and go up and down. We went on the Road to Hana on one day, to west Maui on another day, and to the top of the 10,023 feet tall Haleakalā or the East Maui Volcano on a different day. We didn’t go to all those areas every time. One place we visited on every trip was Makena Beach where we got married. Hubby liked to get up early and walk on the beach by himself while I slept in. Then we walked together to watch the sunset.
We’ll be going back next week to stay for a week. We’ll go hiking in the Rainforest and the Seven Sacred Pools. We’ll also do some water activities like snorkeling and kayaking. It will be fun.

That is stunning. I so need to travel more. Might have to wait till the kids have grown up though

I agree with you, Nigel. It’s hard to travel when the kids are in school. You’ve been in England for several years? I don’t know how easy it is to take time off. Is your wife driving?

Yeah she can. But after her visa and all our flights it’s hit us hard financially. So I guess I must be patient 😄

WordPress made me unfollow a bunch of people during 2017 and 2018. I feel terrible. I just followed you again. Thank you for making comment so I could go to your site to follow. 🙂
No wonder I only have a few posts coming to my Reader!!

WordPress has done that to me too on occasion, Miriam (and probably to everyone else). Thanks for following again! ❤

Miriam, I love your latest share of photographs so much, I felt compelled to go in search of who invented the camera, and who is recorded as bringing the 1st photograph to life. I wonder what they would say if they knew how many wonderful varieties of snaps can be captured today, not to mention the stories they tell, and the fond memories they dredge up!?
They’d probably jump up and down and clap loudly. That’s what I feel like doing when I witness such passion and creativity on your blog. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Back in the 1800’s Henry Cox Talbot invented the camera. A French made the 1st photograph. His name was Nice’phore Nie’pce. It appears that there was a great deal of competition both in inventing the camera, and subsequent 1st photographs. Here in the US, Mr. Eastman (Kodak) rings a 🛎 for most of us!

We too visited Maui and traveled the Road to Hana. It’s one of the most exquisite places I’ve ever seen for it’s pure natural beauty. What a wonderful memory Miriam – and how nice you get to revisit! Enjoy.

My husband I took the Road to Hana also (but not when we got married), but we never got there due to road construction. We did go up to Haleakala the next day just before sunset. Beautiful photos!

Thank you, Amoralegria. When did you go? We’re going back next week, but we may not go to Road to Hana because we went on it for three times. I wonder if it’s still under construction.
