Merry Christmas
It has been a challenging time for me since the beginning of November. I have an allergic reaction toward something, possibly medications. After having gone to the Urgent Care twice, Emergency Room twice, hospitalized for five days and seeing eight doctors, no doctor could pinpoint what happened to the constant inflammation of my skin. All they could say was to ask me to discontinue this and that medication. I will discontinue ALL my medications in less than a month. What a motivation for me to get rid of all the medications I have been taking. They gave me some treatments such steroids and antibiotics. I spent Thanksgiving in the hospital and was hoping not to miss all the celebrations in Christmas.

Messiah Performance

Messiah Performance
With great effort and determination, I gathered my energy and ensured a pleasant appearance; I managed to sing in one of the two performances of Messiah. I couldn’t sing in the first one because I was still miserable. Laying in my bed, I could hear the choir singing. My disappointment was no greater than my motivation. I quietly plead for good health the next day so that I could sing. Oh, what a miracle! I woke up feeling the coolness of my body. It was a great joy for me to spend hours to prepare myself. The photos showed my red face (with no make-up) from the inflammation. My friends in the audience were happy to see me.

Retirees singing to the retirees
I also got to sing in one of the two chorale concerts. I missed the first one when the group sang in a retirement home. The second one was as fun when we sang to the fellow retirees.

Precious group of ladies at the Christmas dinner

Joy to the World celebration
There were two Christmas parties I was delighted to go and had fun seeing my friends of thirty years. One was the ladies Christmas dinner, and the other was the adult fellowship Christmas party.
I haven’t seen the end of the tunnel yet. I’ll still must take a blogging break until my health is fully recovered. Until then, I wish you all
A Merry Christmas!
Sorry to be seeing this so late, Miriam — all the same, am so very happy to hear that you’ve started 2020 on the mend — wishing all the best for you & yours, dear 🙂

I’m so sorry to hear you have been so unwell, Miriam. I hope the doctors have found out the cause of the inflammation and have been able to ‘fix’ it. I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and that 2020 will herald wonderful things for you.
Best wishes, Norah

Thank you, Norah! I surely hope the doctors will find out the cause. My skin is so dry and itchy from weeks of inflammation, it reminds me of my chemo treatment.
I had a wonderful Christmas with my granddaughter even though my energy was low.
Thank you for your best wishes and wishing you a wonderful 2020!!

Hi Norah, is Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery a good place to make donation to the bush fire survivors in Australia? ❤

Red Cross is the one that comes up at the top of every list I see, Miriam. Thank you so much for supporting Australians who are hurting as a result of the fires.

I love your outfit, Miriam! Sorry you’re going through a bad health crisis. I’ve suffered from eczema most of my life, so I totally understand how debilitating it is. Hopefully, they figure out the issue soon.
Happy holidays!

I still have eczema. The stress makes it worse. But this reaction is something else. I hope my new allergy specialist has something for my treatments. Happy holidays to you and your family! 😊

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry this is happening to you! I’ll be praying for you and praying that the allergen is identified! ❤ I've had a lot going on lately and haven't been reading blogs. I just checked Goodreads and saw this post there and wanted to leave you a comment. Feel better soon and hope you have a Merry Christmas! ❤

Thank you so much, Grace. I’m getting better as far as no new reaction, but my skin had inflammation for many weeks so it it’s still dry and cracked. I’ll get long term treatments after the holidays.
Have a wonderful Christmas with you family. 💖🎄

Thank you, Grace! ❤ I'm recovered the most part. Skin is still dry and itchy from 2 months of inflammation. My appointment with the allergy specialist is coming up. ❤
I'm glad to see your new profile picture. You're very pretty. I love your cat. How many cats do you have now? 🙂
How are you doing? 🙂 How is your dad?

Thank you! ❤ We took that photo on New Years and Angel, the cat in the photo, died two days later. She was my oldest, 15 1/2 years old. I set it as my profile photo in remembrance of her. 🙂 I hope to get a post on my blog sometime soon about her. 🙂
We have eleven in all. 🙂 I'm okay now but the weeks after losing Angel was hard.
My dad's about the same, still not well.

I’m getting better, thank goodness! But still have a way to go to heal the skin after six weeks of inflammation and go on treatment to find the cause.

Hi Carly, it’s good that you’re not working. Being productive is a cultural concept. Caring for ourselves and simply enjoy the BEING is something I’ve learned overtime.
I’m going to visit my granddaughter for the holidays.
Take care and enjoy your Christmas! 😇

Hi Miriam,
I’m praying for God to reveal exactly what is causing your body to experience an allergic reaction!! For months I experienced bumps and swelling on my face and the top of my hands. It took months of allergy testing. It was finally discovered that I was allergic to dust mites! I covered my bed mattress with a plastic cover and got a new pillow with a special allergy protective cover. It solved my problem!
Praying for your relief and discovery!
Merry Christmas!

Thank you for your prayers and sharing of your experience. So far, I stopped all the herbs plus medications, stopped using soaps with fragrance and stopped using fabric softener. I’ll wait for my new allergy specialist tests me for anything else.
Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you! 🎄🎉🤗

Thank you so much, Willow. I was so sick that looking at the phone was a chore to me. I made many last minute decisions on so many things including deciding to go spend Christmas with my daughter’s family. I’m going next week for a week and will postpone our original plan of staying longer. Paid dearly for flight tickets for last minute booking though.
Hope that I won’t have major reaction next week. ❤ ❤
