Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #81: Find Something Red
For this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge, Patti invited us to a photo scavenger hunt to find things that are red.
This scavenger hunt was harder than I thought. I found out that most of my photos don’t have too many red things. I’m glad to find some to share with you.
In early 2019 we went to my nephew’s wedding in Hong Kong. This is my granddaughter at the wedding cake cutting area outside of the banquet room.
I captured this photo with the Royal Guard standing at the Tower of London.
Mozarts Geburtshaus was the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in Salzburg, Austria. Mozart was born here on 27 January 1756. The Mozart family resided on the third floor from 1747 to 1773.
This is the art exhibit at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, a science and technology museum in Portland, Oregon. The artist collected insects and small birds around the world and used them to create amazing art displays.
This piece of artwork is by the same artist. Every tiny dot in this artwork is a real insect.

Wonderful choices Miriam. Of course the little one is adorable, and the artwork made of insects is incredible. Can you do me a favor and send me your email address? I’m at TRSchell@me.com. Would like to ask you something, thanks

Thank you, Tina! Yes, the artwork is amazing. We watched a video about the artist. He travel with his family all over the world to collect insects. He has a studio with many workers help him create the displays.
I’ve sent you an email.

I’ve been in two of those pictures. We only went to Salzburg once, a bargain February break and I loved it. When we came back I was asked ‘Did you go for the skiing? ‘ NO, can’t ski. The Sound of Music?’ No… went to see where Mozart was born, walked in the snow and went up to the castle, what more could one want?

I think your trip was worth it and I’m glad you enjoyed it.
My daughter went to Salzburg for summer school. They went to the movie site of The Sound of Music. I wanted to go during our trip, but it was a tour and that was not in our itinerary. We did go to the Ski Jump site for the winter Olympics and passed by the Von Trapp family house.

Your granddaughter is my favorite shot; I’m a sucker for a child’s innocent smile. I can see why the challenge was hard because there aren’t that many red objects in the world when you think about it.

Isn’t she darling, Pete? Yes, I find that in my photos, the only red is our clothing. Red does stand out! Perhaps the world just wants to blend together.
