Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #98 – Delicate Colors
This week for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #98, Ann-Christine invited us to look at the delicate colors. I include two sets of photos here.
The first set:
These are the full moon photos from January 31, 2018. I captured the full moon when it rose above the trees and buildings before it was too high in the sky. The distance would be greater when the moon is high. By zooming, I captured different colors and shades of the moon.
The second set:
The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc’s (Font màgica de Montjuïc in Catalan) at Barcelona, Spain is a spectacular display of color, light, motion, music, and water acrobatics. A mixture of these elements together in just the right combinations is pure magic.
We were there in the summer of 2016 to celebrate our anniversary. The tour guide secured a spot for us to get a great view.
Here is a short video. I hope you don’t get a motion sickness because I moved the camera to adjust the height of the water!!

I think the moon photos have a sort of quiet majesty about them.

Beautiful close up of the moon, Miriam. And that fountain is something. I could watch that for hours. No motion-sickness, thank goodness. Great calming post as always.

I took moon photos in 2017 and 2018. I’m taking a break for a couple years. Disneyland has bigger water fountain shows, but the admission is getting too expensive. I remember there was $99 annual pass, but the last time we went, getting pizza for four people cost close to $99!

Love your moon shots, Miriam! I have never caught a decent shot of it ever…The fountain brings back lovely memories of our Barcelona visit – I could have watched it forever – wonderful classical music too! Interesting choices you have made – well done.

Thank you, Ann-Christine. I set the tripod on the sidewalk and took the shots between or just above the trees. I watched the fountain again many times. I think the music was part of the show. I didn’t do any editing.

My camera is a pocket camera, less than $100. I don’t have time to become professional photographer so I don’t want to spend too much money in camera. I’m glad you like the photos, Kim. We’re doing well, thank you!

Such an interesting contrast between natural wonder and man-made wonder! As splendid as the fountain is, I think I prefer the moon photos.

I was so interested in the moon cycles that I took photos often for two years. But my location didn’t see the colors of red blood moon and blue moon.

Beautiful, Miriam! I love the moon photos. It’s difficult to capture the moon that well here in Florida, because we’re so flat. The fountain is magical. Thanks for providing the video. It was fun to watch. ❤ xo

I know it’s hard to take moon photos, Vashti! When there’s full moon, especially the blue moon or red blood moon, I look up the map on websites, many states don’t get good views. It might have something about the elevation of the states also. I watched the fountain again many times. 💖💖 I’m glad you liked it. 😍

The elevation is definitely a factor. Florida is at sea level. It was a fabulous post. I enjoyed it. 😀 ❤

I’m glad you liked them, Norah! In my location, I could only take regular full moon photos, but not red blood moon or blue moon. I finally uploaded the fountain video on YouTube.

I broke the one with 30x zoom and sent it to Canon. They couldn’t fix it and wanted to replaced with a refurbished one but the model was not available, so they sent me the 70x zoom. It’s pretty good considering I could take closeup moon photos!
