Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #101 – One Single Flower
Thank you, Cee, for hosting the Lens-Artists Challenge #101 this week.
The topic for this week is one single flower. Cee’s favorite quotes is “If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.” Buddha. Flowers have changed her world. I must say flowers brighten my days and helped me to survive the toughest moments.
I take photos of flowers in my garden year-round to see the changes throughout the seasons. I also like to use the natural sunlight at different hours.
“In joy and in sadness, flowers are our constant friends.”– Unknown

Late summer early in the morning as the sun just rose up.
“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”– Zen Shin

A winter morning when the sun was soft.
“Open the bloom of your heart and become a gift of beauty to the world.”– Bryant McGill

The same winter in the afternoon as the sun started to descend.
“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.”– Audrey Hepburn

A late spring morning when the sun was gentle.
“A rose can never be a sunflower, and a sunflower can never be a rose. All flowers are in their own way, and that’s like women too.”– Miranda Kerr

Early summer morning when sunflowers were in full bloom.
“There are always flowers for those who want to see them.”– Henri Matisse

Late spring at night using flash for this photo.
Please join us for fun and check out the stunning photos at Cee’s One Single Flower.

There are so many layers to flowers, aren’t there? They’re a living metaphor for life, mankind, and happiness.

I know, Jacqui. Flowers are amazing inspiration to me. Roses gradually reveal the petals whereas hibiscus lives only one day and gradually wither the next day, but the hibiscus is gorgeous in its one-day life.

Hi Miriam, I loved all the wonderful quotes you found to go with your stunning flower photos. Your rose under the Audrey Hepburn quote is so beautiful and my favorite. Thanks so much for playing along with everyone.

You gave us a great theme, Cee. I’m glad you liked that rose. It didn’t catch the real color, but it turned out something beautiful.

What a wonderful analogy for how human life should be.

I know, Peter. It took me most of my life to come to grip that I don’t need to proof myself to others and not even to myself and accept whatever stage I am in.

If only that was on every school curriculum!

I know, Peter, but it may not happen. I was in the British school system in Hong Kong. We knew exactly where we were academically among the class and among the school. Good thing that among the 40 kids in class, I was always within the first 9.

Beautiful images! From the few challenge responses I’ve seen, I know I will enjoy looking at every one. I don’t have a green thumb, but I can sure appreciate nature’s handiwork.

Many people said I have a green thumb, John. Perhaps I do. I tend every root careful and nurture the plants. I inherited the green thumb from my dad.

Gorgeous! Such happy blooms. I like the idea of them blooming without a thought of comparison.

Isn’t it a wonderful thought? As people, we compare a lot in many ways.

We do, Miriam. Too often and in too many ways.

In a way, it’s a motivation if it happens in a positive way. So, Norah, sometimes comparison is good.

It can be positive, but we often compare and find ourselves and other come up short.

I hope things are well with you and your family. I’ve finally got my groove back, and I’m pouring a lot of positive energy into my work in progress. I’m about halfway through my latest draft, and it’s going well. I’ve been blogging a lot less because I’m getting something done each day.
