Lens Artists Photo Challenge #119 – My Hideaway
Ann-Christine invited us to explore the theme of Hideaway and would like to see our interpretation.
There is no time like this when we all need a hideaway. A place in which we could find safety, calmness, beauty, feel the contentment of being, and sustain the patience of riding out the storms.
My garden is my hideaway. Nature and the little creatures speak to me and I find comfort in their messages. The branches bend when the wind blow. The roots reach deep to draw water and nutrients. The flowers dance in the breeze. Some plants go dormant in the winter. Some creatures migrate south in the cold season. They don’t fight against nature but make the best of what nature offers and maintain their balance at their present state.

Music is my great hideout.

Very wise words, Miriam, “they don’t fight against nature but make the best of what nature offers….”. I love how you captured the delicate features of the rose. Your granddaughter is adorable and warmed my heart.❤️

Yeah, Erica. Nature is beautiful in so many ways. The roses are almost done for the year. They may be around for a few more week. The projection is we’ll have a wet winter. We need the rain badly even though raining is not my favorite weather.
My granddaughters warm my heart also and I can’t wait to see them again. ❤

I love your garden. Even from a distance, I feel it’s peace.
I’ve missed so many of your posts. Somehow, my WordPress won’t deliver blog posts to my email anymore. I spent about a week trying to figure out if I unsubscribed or they went to spam and now solved it by reading blogs through the reader. Not my preferred way, but oh well!

I don’t get Diana’s posts to my email or Reader. I don’t think I get your posts to my Reader either. Every time I used my bookmark to head over to Diana’s blog, I got unfollowed. I complained to WordPress specifically about her blog, but those happy engineers have no glue of what happen. In fact, I bookmarked about 40 blogs and check the ones don’t show up on the Reader. I even went through all the blogs I followed and made sure I clicked the button for receiving posts. Nothing helps!!

Your garden is beautiful. I can just imagine sitting out there watching the birds and butterflies and contemplating life and all our blessings. Of course music allows us to escape and soar. I love that picture of your granddaughter “playing” the piano. Another lovely poem too. So many talents, my friend.

Oh, I just found out your last comment referred to another poem. That was the only Pantoum Poem I’ve written.
The winter is coming soon and most of the colors in my garden are gone, but the plants need a long winter sleep to be ready for next year. So I don’t mind. And, I always have music anytime.
I would like my granddaughter to take piano lessons when she is ready. Thank you for your lovely comments, Carla.

It is necessary, but sad when the blooms die and the flowering plants go to sleep for the winter. I wanted my daughter to play piano, but after a couple of years of lessons, she gave it up. Not her thing, I guess. I hope your granddaughter loves it.

We can try as parents, but kids have their own ideas. As long as they enjoy themselves and try their best, science, math, or art are all good.
My granddaughter likes music, so will wait and see if she picks up an instrument.

My daughter was more physical. Figure skating, hockey, soccer, swimming etc. She is a well rounded young adult, that is all I can ask for.

It’s wonderful, Carla. Those are the ones I watch on olympics. My daughter is active also. She and her husband did a triathlon, bike, swim run; and she did a biathlon bike, run, right before pregnant with the second baby. They do cross country skiing a lot and hiked to the top of Mount Adams and ski down.

I love the photo of your granddaughter playing piano. She’ll learn to play a song fast.
Your garden is incredibly beautiful, Miriam.

Thank you, Amy. You just gave me an idea for Autumn to play songs. We’ll put color stickers on the keys. Some beginning piano books have colored notes, I think. Winter is coming and I’ll settle for fewer colors in my garden.

Your garden photos are so clear, so beautifully composed. But what I’d really like to see is that cute little one at the piano!

I’m thank you for my garden, Rusha and I must spend time in my garden every day especially during this time of Covid. My granddaughter is cute at the piano and she plays with harmonica and plugs the guitar also. I’ll see which instrument she picks to learn. Thank you for your comment.
