Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #155 – On the Water
John Steiner is the guest host for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #155. He says throughout history, people have gravitated to water for trade and for relaxation and he invited us to share the photos on the water.
This week, I have fun reflecting and finding the quotes and sayings about water and ocean. Please enjoy the scenes and the wisdom about Water throughout history.
“Nothing is softer or more flexible than water, yet nothing can resist it.” – Lao Tzu

“Water is soft and humble, but it is the most powerful and is the most endurable.” – Debasish Mridha

“There’s nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it’s sent away.” – Sarah Kay

“Dance with the waves, move with the sea, let the rhythm of the water set your soul free.” – Christy Ann Martine

“Water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing, in the end, can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone.” – Margaret Atwood
“Water is the driving force of all nature.” — Leonardo da Vinci

“Life is like the ocean; it goes up and down.” ― Vanessa Paradis

“To reach a port we must set sail. Sail, not tie at anchor. Sail, not drift.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt

“We ourselves feel what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.” – Mother Teresa
“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” ― Ryunosuke Satoro

We need water for so many reasons, Chelsea. We can fast for 40 days but people can’t survive without water for three days.

Lovely pictures and quotes! Water is so serene but it can also be wild, fierce.

Exactly, Esther. People love water for many reasons. We can’t do without water but too much water, liking flooding, is horrifying.

Nature is both peaceful and awe-inspiring, and when it gets into its fury, it’s terrifying! It’s so vast and awesome…shows God’s power.

You’re right, Esther. Water can be soothing, but flooding is destruction. Fire gives us warmth but wildfires leave us devastation and despair. God is saying something to us.

Agree…nature is awe-inspiring and shows me the greatness of God.

Huntington Library is a lovely place to visit, Gwen. I think I only walked around and visited all the gardens once or twice years ago when I lived close to San Marino. I can’t walk that much anymore. ❤

When talking about Hawaii, My husband wants to go to Maui. I haven’t been to any other islands but have gone to Maui 5 times.

I have a friend that goes to Maui regularly. My wife and I spent 10 days on Kauai and loved it. Our only other trip we made was to cruise around the islands with only one or two days at each port.

Yes, you’re lucky, Judith to be close to the ocean. We have to drive about half an hour to see the ocean. I’m lucky to live by the water all my life.

Thanks, Jacqui! There are so many falls and rivers and lakes within a short driving distance from my daughter’s home. They go every weekend. I went with them to Moulton Falls when my daughter was eight months pregnant!
