I had a wonderful day chatting with my daughter. We canceled the trip to see them because they were sick. But rescheduled it to Memorial Day which is coming up in two and a half weeks. Hope you had a wonderful day, Jacquie! Have your daughter picked up your grandson yet? ❤

It’s good to keep in touch with your grandson before the gap widened. It’s good for him to know his grandma cares and loves him. Having grandparents in life is special, something I didn’t have because of WWII. They were in China and my parents were in Hong Kong. They went to stay with my paternal grandparents during the war. Then my grandma went to Hong Kong when before I was 10. I only remember she was blind.

I find that many people in those generations were in a survival mode, not asking too much.
