The Winding Road – A Book Review
I’m thrilled to announce that Thomas Wikman posted a review of my book, The Winding Road, Journey of Survival, on his blog. My heart was touched when I saw his review on Amazon about six weeks ago. It made me sad when he mentioned his personal experience relating to my book. I wanted to find him to thank him for the review. I wanted to express my condolences for losing his mother through cancer.
Two weeks ago, I scrolled through some blog posts on my Reader. I came across Thomas’ post hosting Jacqui Murray’s book tour. After we exchanged comments a few times, I realized he was the one who reviewed my book. I was overjoyed that we finally made the connection.
Thomas grew up in Sweden, but he immigrated to the United States because of his wife. He has a Ph.D. in Robotics. He is a retired software/robotics engineer with a background in physics. He blogs at Leonbergerlife.com where he shares the history of Leonberger and all the information and stories about Leonberger. His family has had a Leonberger named Bronco for thirteen years. Bronco is no longer with them, but he lives in Thomas’s book The Life and Times of Le Bronco von der Löwenhöhle: Stories and Tips from Thirteen Years with a Leonberger.

You’re right about Thomas’ reviews, Jacqui! It sure brightened my day. I read some of his reviews on Amazon. Connecting with him through your blog blast was amazing.
Our driving from CA was scary. One hour after we arrived at our new home, it snowed. We were snowed in for a few days. I finally could get some groceries yesterday.

Welcome to the chilly NW!

Hubby got a snow shovel, some sand, and snow tires for my car. Snow like this last one is unusual in Portland, but it’s his first time living in NW. I have my old photos of 1980 when Seattle welcomes me with 7 inches of snow. I had driven in snow, freezing rain, and ice, so I didn’t overact to this one. 🙂

How are you and your wife doing? Is it still winter there?

We don’t seem to have had any real Winter at all, with temperatures well above average, very little snow, even on the mountains, and rainfall well below normal. Without good hard frosts, to kill off the germs, we’ve had plenty of viruses and colds around and we have both suffered from these.

Sorry to hear what happened to you and the surrounding people, Peter! Are there any suggestions from the authority to stay safe? The weather in the entire globe turns upside down! We all suffer in health, and loss of lives and belongings. It’s terrible in the US. I wonder if it’s too late for us to save the planet earth we call home.

It is sometimes difficult to remain positive but we must, and we must all do whatever we can to change things for the better.

I remember very well when our Vice president Al Gore warned about the global warming but nobody paid attention. David Attenborough even went to the UN to plea for the attention. The rainforest is gone fast. The glacier disappeared. Wonderful creatures extincted. David said if we don’t do anything, we’ll destroy ourselves in 50 some years. 🙁

Yet we still continue with little thought for the future!

Most of the politicians are only concerned about power! The US suffered tremendously from the upside down weather the last two years. I hope this president and the congress would do something. I think the UN summit in 2019 had some countries pledged to take actions.
