Maple in Four Seasons

The Thursday Doors is a weekly challenge at Dan Antion’s site No Facility for people who love doors and architecture to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos, drawings, or other images or stories from around the world. If you’d like to join us, simply create your own Thursday Doors post and then share a link to your post in the comments in this post.

There are approximately 132 species of maples, most of which are native to Asia, with a number also appearing in Europe, northern Africa, and North America. Thirteen maples are native to North America; three are native to Oregon. Maple trees seem to be popular for many reasons. My daughter has seven maples. We have four, three regular size, and one dwarf Japanese maple. I had all the intention of photographing the maple tree in front of our red door throughout the seasons. I couldn’t decide on the angle when I started to take photos of the tree last winter. As a result, the angle of the almost naked tree at the beginning of spring is different than the ones in other seasons.

We had a maple in front of our California home also but I love the maple in front of our current home for its dramatic change from green to red color.
