Everywhere, I hear noises and voices

I quickly answer and respond

Every day, I receive demands and comments

I rush to comply and improvise

Every hour, I see needs and pleas

I passionately land my ears

The momentum is like a snowball

Where to stop, no idea at all

Once in a while, unplug my self

To be away from the

Noises and voices

Demands and comments

Needs and pleas

And land myself in solitude

Where I could attend my voice and

The voice from above, to

Reacquaint my inner self

Refresh my private thoughts

Re-lubricate my soul

Rejuvenate my energy

Reignite my spirit, so to

Return to the world, and

Be in better Service

Weekly Photo Challenge – Path of Journey

A long path I have traveled,

Twisted and turned.

High up on the mountain,

Deep down in the valley.

Crooked, uneven steps,

Darkness, no scene in sight.

Feet heavy, unable to drag,

Body weary, no strength to carry.

Heart filled with comfort,

Spirit with faith,

Mind with trust.

Knowing

He will guide me,

Empower me,

Light up my path

Through the journey.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105

“By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.” Nehemiah 9:19

About me

Miriam Hurdle

Miriam Hurdle grew up in Hong Kong where she went to college and worked for five years before coming to the United States. While in Hong Kong, she taught Chinese as a Second Language at Hong Kong Baptist University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong for three years. She was also the Director of the Children’s Department at the Asian Outreach where she published four Chinese Children’s books. Miriam Hurdle came to the United States for her graduate studies. She received her master’s degrees in Christian Ministry from Portland Seminary, Counseling from Seattle Pacific University, and Education Administration from California State University, Los Angeles. After teaching in a California public school for fifteen years, she was promoted to a school district administrative position. She went on to do the postgraduate studies and earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from La Verne University in California. Dr. Hurdle continued in her administrative position for ten years before her retirement. In her retired life, Dr. Hurdle enjoys doing volunteer counseling, reading, writing, blogging, singing, drawing, watercolor painting, gardening, photographing, and traveling. Dr. Hurdle is married to Lynton Hurdle and has one married daughter and one granddaughter.
